“A wonderful place to chill”

Having stayed at Jamaica Inn for several days in December, I thought it was about time to write a review. They say first impressions are everything, well when you check in, you are greeted with friendly, professional staff and a stunning view of the grounds, the beach and the sea. From the moment, we arrived to the moment we left, we really enjoyed this resort. The rooms are well appointed with modern bathrooms and A/C that can’t be beat. I don’t think there is a bad view from any room. We were on the ground floor with a great verandah that served as another room. We were just steps from the small beach which is dotted with palapas and comfy loungers ready for your day of rest and relaxation. The grounds are impeccable and if you are interested, a gardener will take you on a tour and tell you everything you need to know. There is a small pool and a beach bar which serves you with any delicious concoction you can imagine. Speaking of serving, the waiters are something to behold, carrying room service on trays on their heads, no hands, just great posture! You can see them all day making deliveries to guests, I don’t think they spill a drop! Many many years of practice. Then there is Inni and Zion, who are father and son resident dogs who follow their mummy, Mary, everywhere. They are a wonderful addition to the resort. The Spa is delightful, I did not have a massage but did enjoy my time there. It sits on the edge of the water, so you can sit outside while getting your nails done and hear the water below. Absolutely divine. The food is very very good but a little expensive. We had a lovely meal one evening under the stars while there was live music playing. There is a small gym that is well equipped to help balance any overindulgences.
Overall, this is a place to rest, relax and enjoy, while being pampered in understated luxury.

“Magical”

My husband and I have travelled the world and when we arrived at the Jamaica Inn a few days ago we knew we'd found someplace very special. There is a sense of peace and quiet, of certainty in an unsettled world. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the food is fresh and beautifully cooked. The papayas are remarkable, as is the grilled fish. Each morning we eat breakfast on our verandah, looking across the beach to the Caribbean. Then we spend the day reading in the lounge chairs and swimming. All of this would be remarkable enough, but what separates the Jamaica Inn from other superb hotels is a level of gracious service that for us is unsurpassed. We'll be back - if they can get us to ever leave, that is.

Room Tip: Just be aware that there are no televisions, radios or even clocks in the rooms - though there is fr...

“Heaven on earth”

From the moment you drive up to the Jamaican Inn, you step into a true feeling of paradise. The property is breath-taking....from the Jamaican blue walls that set off the beautiful rooms to the luch foliage and pristine beach. The British colonial history of the property is well in tact and adds to the graciousness of being a guest there. The rooms are stately yet inviting. We loved having breakfast on our adjoining patio which is integrated into the room...more like a veranda. It felt so luxurious. What agreat nights sleep on one of the most comfortable beds ever. The property manager, Mary Phillips, personally makes each and every guest feel like they are home...it's incredible. And the staff...gracious and warm to a one...I've never seen anything like it. I was on the beach as an example and as I dusted a chair off, a staff member was instantly there to help me. This kind of service never stops the entire time. Each and every meal was absolutely delicious...couldn't beleive it. And the beach...expansive and picture perfect. I loved the croquette area as well in the center of the property, adding to its charm. The Jamaican Inn is truly an exceptional vacation experience...don't change a thing!

“First-class service & complete relaxation”

We really needed to have a break after an eventful and difficult 2011 so the plan was for a brief getaway to the Jamaica Inn, Ocho Rios for some r&r.
This was a great way to start 2012. The place is amazing. Unlike many of the all-inclusive resorts. Not necessarily budget-oriented but certainly well worth the price. "You get what you pay for"....heard that before? It's quaint and very private with staff that welcome you "to the family" and a Manager that hugs and kisses you good-bye at the end of your stay. Accomodations are spot on, whether the balcony suites or private cottages. The grounds and beach wonderfully maintained. Service excellence in all regards. Exceptional cuisine and drinks. Happy to have had the experience and look forward to being a regular for years to come.

Room Tip: Highly recommend arranging a private driver from the airport to the resort and back. This can be acc...
