My wife and I stayed here for a week, and found it to be a great hotel, and to be significantly cheaper than staying at the other properties.

The hotel itself is smaller, but a nice property overall. Clean, sizable rooms, with good food options. There is not a private beach at this location, but we didn't mind as we took the free shuttle to the other property every morning anyway. We would typically have breakfast at Carlyle, and take the morning shuttle for a 5 minute ride to the other property and stay there for the day, making use of their beach and snorkeling activities, and having lunch there. In the late afternoon we'd head back to the Inn to clean up for dinner before taking a ride back to one of the other hotels for dinner.

If you can't put up with a few 5 min shuttle rides a day in order to save over $1000, then perhaps this place isn't for you. We didn't have any issues with noise, or sleeping, but there are often large groups of locals directly across the street. We wandered over to the beach a couple of times, but weren't hassled by anyone and found the locals to be friendly.

I would recommend this property to others.

We really enjoyed out stay at the Sandals Inn, even though we didn't have the greatest weather when we were there. We loved that we paid for one, and could "play" at the other two Montego Bay Sandals resorts which were very lovely and fancier than our hotel. The beach across the street of our resort was okay, but the other two resorts were much bigger, more private and very beautiful. Our room was convenient and our bed was comfortable. The buffet was all that we needed at our resort for breakfasts. There was an abundance of places to choose to eat among the three places for dinners (we never made it to them all in a week), and the shuttle bus that ran between them was very convenient. Crazy Ray at our resort worked very hard to get everyone to have a good time and he was lovely to have around!

On arrival at the hotel we could not believe the noise from the road and beach. The beach is very small and is popular as a meeting place for locals. We were unprepared for this noise and the amount of time it went on for. Our room was on the top floor and was completely adequate although a bit dated. Most days we caught the bus to Montego Bay resort and the facilities there were first class. The pool at the Carlyle was too cold and not many people seemed to use it. The food was good and varied,we particulaly enjoyed the barbecue and the entertainment was OK. The redeeming feature of this hotel was the staff, they were absolutely first class, very attentive and friendly. Our courtesy room at checkout was a disgrace for the 'Sandals' brand and like a dungeon. We wont be going back.

This was our first visit ever to Jamaica.The warm temperatures were just what we needed (being from Pennsylvania). From the time we landed to the day we left, we were taken care of. The staff went above and beyond the call to make our stay at the Carlyle the best. Our room was great (on the third floor). Our butler, Nigy, made our stay one to remember. The other two butlers, Danesha & Steven, were also great! The other staff, Lisa, Jevan, William, & Lij, were all great. We had soo much fun and made so many friends there that we will be going back to the Carlyle. The reason why we picked the Sandals Carlyle was due to the size because my wife has trouble being around large crowds. The Sandals Montego Bay & the Royal Caribbean would have not worked for her, so the Carlyle worked very well for her. It was great to use the other two resorts for dining as well. We do agree that the public beach is somewhat loud at times, but the overall experience made it worthwhile. To sum it up, the price was worth the experience.
