“It did not live up to the hype !”

It was our first Sandals experience it was also our wedding and honeymoon. Myself and guests have travelled quite a bit before this holiday and were not impressed for the money that was spent it was just average not exceptional. The hotel is very near the airport and planes are going overhead constantly and noisey. There is no disco or entertainment after 10 and even most shows put on by the hotel was singers. This location is more for a quite laid back time vacation. There were not a lot of water sports and the snokeling trips were cancelled due to the high winds during most of our stay. The beaches are broken up into several smaller ones on the resort. The thai resort Island does not have the amount of sand that the pictures in the brochures show. The staff was great and bar service as well. Reservations were hard to come by for dinners they were all booked up even at the partner Montego bay location ( this was even worse for the airport was right next door to it) One of our pre booked exersions we were sent to the wrong location and were not given the opportunity to book another day and they blamed the tour oporator but it was booked directly thru sandals ! We were married on the beach and requested a walk out beach room but when arrival we were on the 2nd floor. My mother is 80 years old we requested a room close to the lobby for her and she was given the farthest away side in kensington., Not worth the money to stay here.

“Never Ever Again”

Dreadful experience, beachfront room, nothing special, small beach therefore crammed, like a Motel 6 with wooden furniture, 20 years out of date, felt like a holiday camp, nowhere peaceful, quite down market, 2-3 star hotel. The private island is tired and shabby. The world and expectations have moved on. On the plus side the food was OK, comfy bed and most of the staff are very good with one or two chippy exceptions.

“Private Island - Thai Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay this February & went to the Sandals Royal Caribbean, which is next door to go to the Thai restaurant for dinner one evening. It was dark so we didn't really see much of the resort other than what we could see from the end of Sandals Mo-Bay. People who had reservations for dinner on the island were taken by "dragon boat" to the island. It didn't dissapoint. The view was lovely & the meal just as good. We had the "sampler" meal, which had a bit of everything. We figured we would get that & really enjoyed it. There were things that we shared & others we wanted to keep for ourselves. I liked the Sandals Mo-Bay but would be interested in visiting this resort again to try other restaurants & to spend a day experiencing other aspects of the hotel.

Room Tip: I didn't actually stay at this resort so I didn't rate the rooms/sleep quality/value

“Great Room, Poor Butler Service, BAD Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed in the most expensive suite. Grande Honeymoon Swim-up suite which was everything we had hoped for. The only issue was the pool temperature which was too cold. The butler service is worthless. It's actaully frustrating! No butler phone given to us until we demanded it from management. Even then the phone was not answered by the butler on several occasions. We were given the basic room service menu to order from. Later in our trip we found out we could order from any of the restaurants and have it delivered to our room. This service was never disclosed to us by any of the staff including our butler. It seemed they directed us away from any amenity that required effort on their part. We ended up eating most of our meals at the buffet and the food quality was poor. The property is beautiful but we won’t be back. $1,200 per night is better spent elsewhere.

I stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean in December 2011. I had been to a few other Sandals properties and loved them but this one BY FAR is my fav!!
first of all they have a private island! how awesome is that? it has a pool, and pool bar, a snack bar, a Thai restaurant that is delicious!!
some of the rooms are directly on the beach, literally you walk off your little porch and you are on sand!
The staff are amazing :) They remember everyone! They are so friendly and entertaining.
The food is great any kind you can think of, nightly shows that are so much fun.
and it's so close to Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Carlyle you can go visit those resorts too if you decide on a change of scenery for a bit

Room Tip: The beach front rooms are exactly that! but little privacy on your balcony because people walk on th...
