I've never written a review before, but this piece of paradise could use more business, and it deserves it. I guess people are worried about crime in Jamaica, but this is mostly in Kingston; the resort is completely safe, and going to Montego Bay for meals is fine. To indicate that I'm not "working" for the hotel, I'll also say that many nice restaurants in Montego Bay offer free rides to and from them (to generate business); this avoids the high price of taxis, and the high prices of hotel dining. But the hotel dining is good, with lovely settings and often live music (an "old time" Jamaican singer name "Big" at the Sugar Mill restaurant is great).
The beach is beautiful, the staff is lovely and helpful, many facilities are free in package deals, and we paid only about $350/night for a lovely accommodation with a terrace on the ocean (and a nightingale singing outside). They maintain the property beautifully, and we worried that if they don't get busier, they might not be able to continue to do so. So I'd say go, have a wonderful time, and help support a wonderful establishment.

This was our fourth consecutive trip to Half Moon in Montego Bay !! This place is an absolute dream come true. Loose yourself on the expansive grounds, play tennis, workout in the fantastic gym, enjoy spectacular food, relax on the many stretches of private beach. There is really no need to even leave the grounds. Be sure to eat at the Sugar Mill and the Italian Restaurant. Sergio takes care of everything. Dwayne at the Sugar Mill is so nice and loved by all three of my children. Ask for authentic Jamaican cornmeal porridge for breakfast to go with the fantastic coffee !!! (As a coffee lover the fact that they give you a whole carafe at breakfast has kept me coming back). It is hard to imagine a more beautiful place with an entire staff of warm people !!

Always thought one of the coolest thing about Half Moon is the entrance gates. One at the main road, and another with great security, about 50 yards further in, both impeccably landscaped in Ivy. Many positives about staying here. Huge, beautifully landscaped grounds, perfect for walking or biking. Swimming pools of various sizes all over the place. Great restaurants, same with service, everyone just seems happy to be employed here. Oh yeah, and the landscaping is fragrant, well maintained and all over the place. Problably the best I have seen in Jamaica. As far as the rooms are concerned, I have stayed in 3 types and feel the Hibiscus Suites are clearly the nicest, with great beds and modern baths. These also come with 2 TV's and an enormous selection of stations, including quite a few foreign channels.
Miles of beaches, so your privacy is intact. Really nice convenience/grocery store on premises.
Only two negatives and they are not really issues. First, the snorkeling is just okay. Second, their price point has gone up quite alot over the years and is kinda pricy now. Anyway, stay here. You will feel safe and secure.

Absolutely be sure to pay the extra for the "Half Moon Plan" as it basically makes every meal and drink free. First Class Service and Amenities. Simply the best Caribbean Experience I have ever had!
