We recently stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We did not book the executive club, but they kindly upgraded us to it after seeing a room on the 3rd floor. The difference in money is definitely worth the Club, I think it's about 20 dollars per day. Every guest receives a free breakfast buffet - and it's amazing. But the Executive floors also get snacks (a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, salads, etc.) twice a day, premium service, and much nicer rooms. Also, it's not as noisy from the events they host in the lobby level function areas or the garden tent. It is true that garden tent parties can be noisy. There was one while I was there it took a little while for me to fall asleep. We had a great view of the city and the ocean from our room and I loved sitting out on the balcony in the afternoons. Overall, the rooms are very large and clean. Not the newest, but very comfortable.
The common areas are amazing. The pool area is incredibly relaxing and clean. The gym is brand new and one of the best hotel gyms I've seen in a while. They also have a tennis court, and raquets and balls for you to borrow (all free). We spent a considerable amount of time using these amenities and they really make the difference, in my opinion, from other hotels in the city. For example, the Intercontinental has smaller but nicer rooms, but you cannot even compare their paltry pool and gym (no tennis) to the Embajador. The common areas will keep me coming back.
The location is also excellent, so it's a win-win all the way around. We'll be back.
