I selected this Hotel El Embajador because it was near everywhere in Santo Domingo. I was planning to stay 4-5 days and extended to 9 why? very simple, great hotel, very clean and nice rooms , good people and excellent service, excellent food, good wireless included, nice bars, excellent business center and service. I liked very much the room service and specially the rooms with the balcony with a nice view. I enjoyed the spa and the restaurants too ,they were excellent.
Something to add is the tide security at the hotel and sorroundings, they have security everywhere and very polite people. The guys ate the front desk are very corteous people and bilingual, nice fellows.

they must have hired help with the online reviews. the hotel is outdated, frayed, and has a nasty habit of booking 3-4 day weekends in their party tent which is guaranteed to keep anyone up who has a habit of going to bed before 3 AM. Most of the staff is very friendly and tries to help, but of course, only to their ability. the rest is decent, just don't purchase overpriced meals, drinks, and enjoy the spectacular pool,comfortable if outdated room, and pleasant neighborhood.

I stayed at this hotel for a work conference. The service was top-notch and the staff working there were kind and hospitable. They helped with every request our organization made (and there were many requests) and were willing to work with us despite the, at times, complicated logistics. While the service and the hospitality were amazing, I found the hotel a bit run down (old tv's, internet did not function in the room- only in the lobby, and the carpets in the room were not very clean). I was told that this was being worked on and I hope to be back again to check out the improvements.

This is the 2nd time I selected this hotel which is near our Regional Office. This time there was a week end due to my flight plan. I checked in on a saturday evening with a jet lag. There was a wedding going on and the music was blaring up till 4 am ! Even though I was on the 6th floor and I was wearing ear plugs, I could not get much sleep. The next morning, upon enquiring, I discover that this is the case every saturday from Jan to Dec !

Otherwise the hotel is still pleasant to stay, with the staff very helpful. Their English has much improved since my last stay last year. But I still have to do with some sign language !
