We stay at Oceanview every year and have done for the past 8 yrs,its very nice there,the hospitality shown is wonderful.There's a huge tropical garden.Fresh fruit juices every morning,also fruits in wanted.The kitchens are fully equipped with stainless steel cookwares,great for cooking local fish.At the back of the property there is a 3 tier local lazy bench,where all us guest meet every afternoon for the sunset.Wonderful location,wish we was in a position to buy this property.

We loved Scott's Head! We would definitely go back and stay again - just definitely NOT at Oceanview. Just to qualify this review - we are definitely not the type to complain about things and prefer our travels to be a little rough around the edges. However, what is going on a Oceanview is unfortunate for a would be great location to stay in beautiful Scott's Head.

I regret that I am unable to recommend Oceanview to anyone. I have stayed in dirt floor - sheet metal roof - cabins that were cleaner. The goat urine smell (from the goats penned up outside your room), roach parts, dirty mildewy kitchen appliances, dust, and grime everywhere simply reflects a lack of care. The used cotton swabs with ear wax on them in the bathroom "rinse cup" was the end of it for us. Though we paid for a week - we got fed up and moved up to a nice hotel in Roseau as did a British couple who had the same experience we did. If we were paying $12 U.S. per night for Oceanview we might have been a little less disappointed. But to pay $60 U.S. for filth was un-excusable. While the hosts are nice - our advice - stay clear of Oceanview. There is only a small ocean view from a bench and the dense gardens around the rooms prevent ventillation but provide great habitat for mosquitos - which somehow out smarted our mosquito netting the 3 nights we endured.

Besides cleanning - Oceanview would do better to forgo the gardens and open the rooms to more ventilation and create a real ocean view. We didn't bother attempting a refund and should have known better than to pay the full amount with a money order before arriving.

I would like to say Dominica is GREAT - we would go back in a minute! The other places we stayed at in Dominica were the clean and comfortable!

stayed at oceanview apts. for a week and had a wonderful time diving and hiking. its a nice apt. with nice gardens,views,and a great host. you wont be dissapointed...
