I must say that this is one of the nicest resorts I have ever been to. We arrived early in the morning, and had to wait until check in at 4pm. Our itinerary stated that we could check in at 3, but that was not the case. There were bellmans there at the door ready and waiting to help us with our luggage as well as Customer Service Staff ready to answer any questions we had. The customer service ladies were truly amazing, polite and helpful. We were able to change in the beautiful front lobby washrooms, and start enjoying our day immediately. The resort is absolutely beautiful. Very, very clean and well kept. There are ashtray stands everywhere which makes it really nice for people that dont like looking at them on the grounds. It also makes it easier for people who have been drinking too much to find a place to put their butts..lol. The pools are absolutely astonishing!!!!! there are really nice pool bars and great scenery throughout.
Our room was absolutely gorgeous! We were so impressed. Our sheets and towels were very clean as well. Everyday, our maid exchanged our towels, and gave us extra when we needed. We left her gifts and a note each morning. There are two parts to the resort per say, 1 side is the Coral and 1 side is the Sirenis. We stayed on the Coral side, and is definitely the better side to be on if you want to have a truly amazing experience.
The entertainment was just wonderful. The shows were amazing!!!!! The costumes, the danicng, the music and the choreography was extremely impressive. The so called professional dancers, were actually less entertaining than the resort staff dancers. However, their shows were still entertaining. We got the luxury of meeting these wonderful people. All cubans seem to be wonderful people, all the resort staff, servers, maids, gardeners, were all very nice - BUT - the entertainment staff is who really made our experience extra special. We wanted to take the staff memebers we clicked with to dinner with us, but had to ask the entertainment manager for permission. Personally, I know why these rules are in place but i dont agree with it. I think we as guests, should be able to invite those special people to dine with us. Obviously we are on vacation and forming long lasting friendships and it is very unfair that we cant eat with them. This would actually be a good time for us to ask them about their families and lives, etc. While they are working when we see them, we dont have enough time to get too personal. This trip particularly, we were able to take 1 lady out 3 times, which she truly appreciated. However, we would have loved to take others with us. :( ... nonetheless, it didnt put a damper on our trip. They work so hard and are always smiling. They will bend over backwards for you, or in most case give you the shirt off their back. They deserve much more, so a great way to thank them is by taking them to dinner at least!
I will be downloading some videos and pictures I took of their shows to validate my claims.
The beachfront is extremely clean, and their are fun activities going on everyday. Once again, it is THE ENTERTAINMENT STAFF who are making this possible. 1 of the nicest things about them is they really do remember your names. Im personally terrible with names, but it is so nice when people remember.
There were a few hiccups with the resort, but nothing that took away from our trip. Antyime there was a problem it was resolved right away. In our case, we were given extra things, just to make it better for us. That was even better. It was a very very very safe place to walk around at night, there were always many staff memebers around looking out for you. There was alot of moquitoes at night, so i wouldnt suggest wearing perfume when you go out to dinner..lol.. (my bad).
The food in the restaurants was good, well for cuba anyway. Everything is very very bland! So when i go next time, im going to bring my own salt, pepper and spices. Their pepper is almost white, and their salt is very hard to shake out. I forgot to mention to the managers to put rice in their shakers to absorb the humidity like we do at home. 1 tip I want to fill everyone in on is that on the Coral side, by the big deep swimming pool is a path to the beach. There is a bbq restaurant there that is included but not a la carte. It is definitely the best place to eat lunch, however it took us 3 days to find out we could eat there!
The positives definitely outweighed the very few negatives, and we had an amazing time! I will always go back there to vacation as it is just awesome. i will tell all my friends and bring my families.
I should note that I have been to Mexico many times, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, St Maarten, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Florida and have taken cruises. THIS WAS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE PLACE SO FAR.
it is very family friendly resort while having the young adults hopping all day as well. The older crowds are always having a blast and if they are not into that, they head on over to the Sirenis side where it seems to be more solitude.
Again, definitely well worth the money.
Feel free to contact me with any questions, as I am a traveller and have alot more information to share on this resort. cjello69@hotmail.com.
