Spent two weeks at Los Galeones. It was our second trip to this resort and it was good to see the wonderful staff, Nancy and old friends again. However the road to the resort is considerably worse than the last time we were there and we didn't believe that could be possible. The buses are beautiful but the road looks as though it is in a war zone, huge holes and the bus just creaps back and forth, back and forth trying to avoid the potholes in all over 2 hours of torture. The shuttle from the resort to the sister resort of Sierra Mar only operated a couple of times while we were there and there was no wine at all, sometimes no mint for Mojitos and the stock of liquor was really limited, plenty of rum but very little of anything else, not even cream for Spanish Coffee. The food was good but if you are spending more than one week there it gets very monotinous as the menu simply repeats itself and the choices and quantities are limited. It looks as though there is a real tightening of the belt with the owners but they are really shooting themselves in the foot because an all inclusive resort shouldn't run out of the things this resort was running out of.
This is so unfortunate as the staff are wonderful and try their very best to make everyone feel welcome and looked after. The entertainment at night was very good and the atmosphere lovely. Sadly, as much as we like the resort and the staff we will definately not be returning to this resort. I think the road has finally taken its toll!
