I had a great stay at Casa Lilly. Located in (Vedado) a few minutes from old havana and other attractions such as plaza de la revolucion, theatres, clubs and bars. The apartment is nicely decorated B&W contemporary design, cozy rooms, daily housekeeping, great view, the breakfast is great, very helpfull hosts they provided us with important info and arranged us a cab to Playa Santa Maria and later on to the airport, also they arrange a very good B&B in viñales for us while visiting pinar del rio. In the near "hotel presidente" buses departures daily to viñales and varadero. Lilly and Ramon speak fluent english, french, spanish and aparently Ramon speaks german too and some russian !!

This Casa Particular was very nice. The service was excellent. The Cuban family helped us with information about places to visit and how to get to them. Finding information in Cuba can be very challenging. They also provided us with guidance about what to bring, how to get from the airport to the Casa, etc.
The breakfast was what I enjoyed the most. It was served in an incredible sunny balcony. We enjoyed the tropical fruits and our host one more time were ready to answer our 'Tourist" questions about contemporary Cuban society.
We also took advantage of their local knowledge and found the local hangs out. This places were a relief from the usual touristic venues and its hustlers.
I will highly recommend this experience.

The casa is a beautiful home and Lily is very welcoming. There was a misunderstanding when we arrived as she had gotten out dates wrong but she arranged for us to stay on the floor above in a different casa for the 1 night until our room was free. You can also eat a wonderful breakfast on the balcony overlooking the sea. Lily can speak English very well and is very helpful. The rooms are nice and simple. The only downside was the location as it was a bit of a trek to the center. There is a hop on hop off sightseeing bus that stops nearby but it does go around the houses. Also make sure you get your visas back before you leave, we had the unfortunate situation of remembering we hadn't been given them back on route to the airport. On the whole though I'd recomend this lovely casa.

There are plenty of places to stay in Havana, so I recommend you find somewhere else to stay. We stayed there for two nights -after the first night we had no water (shower, toilet, sink), and we were told to leave after the second night because the bathroom was falling into the floor below. All of this was not their fault, but the "gentleman" who explained it to us was not very polite. When we told him we'd had no water, he accused us of lying, and threatened to call the police. Lilly herself was nice, but we had no contact with her other than when we paid for our two nights. There are nicer, friendlier places in the same location, and our next casa was wonderful.
