“Wonderful hospitality”

Another return visit to the Sandpiper and as always it was splendid. The calm and relaxing atmosphere is wonderful with friendly and efficient staff. The proximity to the very chic new shopping Mall, Lime Grove, is a bonus and useful on an occasional rainy day. The Sandpiper continues to deliver a great level of service, good food and attention to detail. Well done!

Room Tip: We prefer the original older style rooms but all the accommodation is good

“Truly Wonderful”

We visited the Sandpiper for a long stay during the off season. It was simply a delight.

Opting for a One Bedroom Garden Suite was an excellent decision and, at off season prices, a true bargain. The decor isn't what western travellers might normally expect and the bathroom perhaps not up to the level of luxury people travelling in this bracket may be accustomed to, however, one has to remember where the Sandpiper is located. Once one has slipped into the relaxed frame of mind that seems to pervade the whole of Barbados the slight lack of usual creature comforts seems insignificant, which truly it is.

The service, from start to finish, was impeccable although the male staff's slightly overbearing approach to attractive female guests takes some getting used to! This seems a cultural issue, however, and was the same everywhere we went.

The restaurant is also wonderful - from excellent Bajan breakfasts through to standard restaurant evenings and barbecues, it never failed to disappoint. I've tried to recreate some of the dishes back in the UK and have never come close.

The beach, though not private, gives the air of being so due to its handy location and the bar an excellent place to sit and relax for a few drinks.

It is a testament to the truly special nature of the Sandpiper that we really did not want to leave. In fact, I intend to return very soon! It is one of a few places, along with the Hotel Bel Air and Post Ranch Inn that I am truly sentimental about and would return to in an instant.

“It's hard to believe that it has been a year!”

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this lovely hotel. The staff are aways welcoming and called us by name in the restaurant. There were lots of familiar faces among the staff and guests and it felt as if we had never been away. We had requested an upstairs room and were not disappointed when we were shown to room 14 which was where we had stayed on our first visit. This had the bonus of a newly-refurbished bathroom complete with walk-in shower. The food was as excellent as ever and today I discovered that I had put on 2 kilos in weight. The weather was a bit strange for the time of year. We arrived in the rain and the day we left we had to paddle from our room to Reception with our cases being carried in plastic bags! We have never seen rain like it! However, we had plenty of hot sunshine and blue skies as well. My husband was able to talk advantage of the watersports and enjoyed sailing in the Hobicat, although sometimes there was not enough wind for this. We are hoping to go back again next year.

“Lovely Hotel for Relaxing”

Not long back from our first trip to Barbados and this hotel. We selected it after checking the reviews here and it definitely lives up them .. we had a suite overlooking the sea and gardens. The staff are great without exception, the water sports are basically whatever you want to do from a trip out on the boat, swimming with turtles to water skiing and sailing ... all you have to do is book the day before. The breakfast is lovely ... loads of fresh fruit. The restaurant really good too ... but as one other review said on the quiet side. Easy place to walk around the area from or explore the island. Very tempted to go back and the vast majority of the other people there were repeat visits. Only slight down side is that the beaches are not huge and its not that easy to have a long walk along the coast (thats not just about this hotel) ... but having said that the fact that all the beaches on this island are open to the public is a great feature.

“PERFECTION”

We just returned from our 10th visit at The Sandpiper. Simply put, this is THE BEST hotel in Barbados. From arrival to departure, the staff goes out of their way to ensure that you have the best vacation(holiday) possible.
We stay in Room 21. It is a one bedroom suite with an ocean view. Rooms have recently been updated on part of the property. The bathroom has been completely updated and very beautiful. New fabrics on the bed and window treatments are very nice. Breakfast is inlcuded and very nice. We ate at Surfside, Mullins, Mango's by the Sea, and Cafe Luna this trip. All are outstanding. Mullins should not be missed !!!
Wayne, Russell and the entire staff need to be complimented on the fantastic job they do. The entire staff embrace us like family. I can tell you that no where in the USA exists such an environment. Harold and his staff at the bar are the best !!!!
Everyone needs to put staying at The Sandpiper on their "Bucket List." Trust me, once you go, you will be addicted.

Room Tip: Splurge and go for Room 21. Ocean View and very quiet
