Just returned from a lovely vacation at the Oxford Guest House in Hamilton. The guest house was built in 1930 and Mrs. Smith has owned it for 27 years. She is a sharp, interesting lady who has traveled extensively and experienced a colorful life. We enjoyed sharing breakfast with her and her wonderful staff each morning. Mrs. Smith and her hard working staff, ( Fay, May and Mahusay), were very accommodating. The inn is elegant, very clean, and well appointed. They made us feel as if it were our home, only better. Did you know that they press the bed linens in Bermuda? They do! The inn is close to shopping, restaurants and the ferry and bus terminals. We have previously stayed in the Southhampton and Hamilton Princess, but this will be our new "home away from home" when we revisit Bermuda.

Service was excellent! The owner, Mrs. Smith is a very pleasant lady, and extremely helpful in helping us with directions and suggestions as to what to do in town. Will definitely stay there again!

The Oxford House is a perfectly charming B&B with an English headmistress as the host. Or so it seems. If you're not used to the British penchant for seriousness, it can be a little off-putting. However, the rooms are spacious and pretty, with an interesting blend of islander and country decor. Breakfast options are simple but abundant (we really enjoyed the buttered scones). Keep in mind that this place is nowhere near the beach, which requires a 20 minute bus ride. But it is a close walk to everything in Hamilton -- an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and little stores. Overall, quite nice!

We chose Oxford House for it's excellent location in Hamilton. Close to both the efficient ferries and central bus station. It is also convenient to a variety of restaurants, a major plus in Bermuda. Dining is very expensive. Hotel staff recommended a few pubs, which were interesting and moderately priced. However, on Friday nights, they are packed with local young professionals. Plan to eat elsewhere on Fridays
Oxford House is well maintained and managed. It is not a B&B with a lot of interaction with the owner, but the continental breakfast is high quality and generous. Beds are comfortable, but pillows were not. Bathrooms, showers only, are well stocked and spotless but tiny. The smallest I've ever encountered and probably not acceptable for oversized guests.
