we have been back from grand pineapple Antigua for just a month, and all ready planning to go back in the summer, so friendly, layed back, staff always willing to help, such amazing food, we had a beach party on a monday evening and everyone gathered around chit chatting and many friends were made. We were like one big happy family everyone new everyone which made the holiday even more relaxing. Everynight there was something going on so you would never get board. The beach is so smooth with clear calm water its like being in a bath. I cant comment on the food in the outhouse because i did attempt to go up there but i stepped in a hole on the way up there and damaged my ligaments in my foot so that put a end to that sadly! Part from that i would highly recommed the resort. In the day time on the beach you had a man called Piper walking around he done the most amazing foot massage you could wish for, it was like he had magic hands he was very cheap to, So for anyone planning a holiday at the grand pineapple resort please check him out you won't disapointed....

Room Tip: Defently book a room on the beach, beautiful view, large, very sunny, very private...

“Fabulous vacation, Smaller resort but the workers are amazing.”

Spent one week Jan 29 - Feb 5th at the Grand Pineapple Resort. This was our first trip to the island of Antigua. The island is very lush and beautiful. Grand Pineapple Resort is very quaint and quite nice. Our room was located on the hill so it was a bit of a walk BUT we didn't mind the exercise. The food at this resort is top notch.

Omellettes at breakfast were great. Say hi to the Omellete lady Winsome, she was very friendly and very accommodating. No shortage of bacon on this resort. Always fresh fruit daily - watermellon, pineapple, daily with a choice of other fresh fruits like bananas, oranges, passion fruit, coconut, apples.

Lunch is buffet and the fish was amazing every day. Supper is buffet twice a week and menu the other nites. Never had any issue with the food and quality, was always delicious and cooked to perfection.

We made reservations at the Pineapple Grille one evening. We were not disappointed with the food or the staff at this restaurant. It was my sister in law and brother in law's 25th anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable evening.

Rooms are wicker and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning worked great.

Nightly entertainment down at the main bar from 7-9 every evening. Bands were very good and had nice dance music. There is a disco that operates from 11 pm until whenever, we never did make it to the disco. Age group of 35 and up. Resort seemed to cater to an older age group.

Beach is beautiful, not rocky at all. Walked the beach daily. All beaches in Antigua are public beaches but we never had a problem with vendors bothering us. Vendors walked the beach but didn't hassle you to buy.

Next to the resort is a Vendors market approximately 8 small wooden buildings where the locals sell their goods. We visited this market twice and we were never hassled to buy.

This resort is a smaller resort but the grounds are very mature and beautiful.

The staff are truly dedicated workers and very friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the service.

Internet is $7.00 for 1/2 hr or $15.00 for an hour. Never had a problem getting to use one of the computers.

We took an day excursion of 1/2 day jeep 1/2 day catamaran with snorkling and lunch. The price was $110 US per person. Would highly recommend this excursion. We booked it through the resort. One of the best excursions I have ever taken and I have been travelling south for twelve years.

Visited the gym three times, it consists of two treadmills, two bikes, one stepper and free weights. With a view looking out at the four tennis courts, quite nice.

We walked to Devils bridge it took approximately 35 mins each way and well worth the walk. Beautiful scenery. Got caught in a rain shower but only lasted 5 mins and then there was a beautiful rainbow.

Marys outhouse is worth the walk up the hill .. The scenery from here is breathtaking. Chicken and ribs and local beer is great.

Read about the birds in the restaurant. There are alot of birds but when you get up to go get food just cover your water glass. Birds are only there in the morning, never seen them at lunch or evening meals. In the evening there are cats wandering around but if you don't feed them they don't bother you. I am not a cat lover and never had any problems with the cats.

Read alot of reviews before travelling to this resort spme were not good. Not sure what their expections are when travelling south? I have travelled to Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, St. Lucia, very well travelled and been to lots of different resorts. and would highly recommend this resort for a great vacation.

Room Tip: Our room was 304 up on the hill. We had no issue with the walk up the hill, but some may find it ti...

We went to grand pineapple Antigua for our honeymoon in November. The resort is very nice. The food at all of the restaurants was delicious! There is even a snack bar by the pool and bar. Marys outhouse is well worth the hike up the hillside. Sandy at the tour desk was very helpful!! We plan on going back!

“Great place”

Just returned from a great 2 week holiday, a returner from 2008. I agree with all the positive comments but have 1 gripe. Why don't the hotel prevent people from reserving sunbeds by placing towels on vacant beds? Other hotels have a rule that any beds without people on them have their towels removed, so that they are freed up for people who actually want to lie on them!

We saw some beds round the pool reserved from 8 am until late afternoon, presumably while the towels owners were out elsewhere for the bulk of the day.

An annoying problem which other hotels have tackled by imposing simple and fair rules - Grand Pineapple should do the same.

“Another week in paradise”

We've just returned from Grand Pineapple after a week's break in January 2012. This is the first time we have visited at this time of year, normally staying in July. The hotel was much busier but coped very well and the standards were excellent as we have grown to expect. The staff continue to be welcoming and friendly, the food just gets better and better, and service is with the wonderful Antiguan smile which brings us back year after year. Nothing is too much trouble and it is just like returning home. Mary continues to cook the best ribs and beans in the universe and the view across the bay is out of this world. We never considered ourselves to be 'returners' to any resort, but, in our view, for a relaxing 'no worries' holiday, nothing can top Pineapple Beach.

Room Tip: Garden view or Beach view are lovely. If, like us, you find yourself next to a noisy room - a scream...
