My husband and I recently stayed here for a weekend to attend a couple of family events in the area. Our overall reaction was the whole place was a bit "tired". The whole interior had a dreary feel to it. Our room, Room#2, was pleasant enough, but the window frames were peeling and the TV remote didn't work. {obviously I'm sure if we had pointed this out they would have fixed it} but we were not there to watch television - just something in my opinion, that we shouldn't have to report. Our stay included "breakfast" and we were surprised that we have had better "complementary breakfasts" in chain motels. There was a cooked breakfast menu available for a price, but really, the "free" offering was very, very poor, except for the fresh fruit. At $125.00 per night for the room, we expected better. We were there however, for a family luncheon which we had outside on the terrace and the food was really excellent, so they certainly have a decent chef. Finally our flight left very early Sunday morning and there was no offer to leave some cereal or something out for us to eat which could easily have been done. Indeed there were two other couples from the Inn on the same flight so there were six of us who got nothing to eat until we got back to Toronto. Two years ago, staying near Rome airport, a small hotel actually fixed us coffee and eggs at 4:00 am so that we had something to eat before our flight. The Shadow Lawn needs to make improvements.
