We stayed here one night last year. Where the hotel in general is very average the location is poor. Its right next to both the highway and a major road, there is nothing to see around. There are some bus stops quite near by, but if you dont know the area you will have trouble finding the right stop getting there. There is a service station, a McDonalds and a food store right next to the hotel.

The rooms are average, but if you get a room on the backside of the hotel you will have a view of a pecular Danish thing called 'Kolonihaver', which are a number of small gardens with some small huts/houses. This is where people living in flats in the middle of Copenhagen have their gardens, this is very popular among especially people in Copenhagen, but you will find them in every bigger Danish city.

If you can get a deal on the hotel its a ok place to stay, but if you have to pay the listed price I would recommend any other hotel in Copenhagen.

You get the standard, free, and big Scandic breakfast which always provide a good start of the day.

As for all Scandic hotels, the same rule apply here. If you are not member of the frequent guest programme, remember to join it when you arrive. This will give you a voucher with a value of 7-8 euro, and will buy you a beer or some sodas.

Its a dump.

No public transportation or shuttle to hotel. Taxi ride 15 minutes to hotel was a ridiculous 263 DKK (about $50), so the location is inconvenient. Its alongside a busy road and near a highway onramp, there is nothing else around.

Lobby area and restaurant are nice and the meeting rooms/services are fine. that's Where it ends. The upper floor common areas are worn, shabby, and dirty. Yes, Scandic is no frills, but this took things to a new level.

My room faced the main road alongside the hotel and the traffic noise was loud. The room had been roasting in the sun and since there was no AC (not surprising, they don't often need it up there) i had to open the windows. I would suggest asking for a room on the back of the hotel, but there might still be some noise from the nearby highway.

The room was not terribly clean. Like a previous reviewer, my bathroom had been wiped, but not really cleaned. Some stray hairs left here and there and the floor was not clean.

As with another reviewer, I was hit by the smell of sewage more and more as the day progressed. They obviously have a problem with the drains and or venting in their sanitary systems in this hotel. My first option was to pour water in the drain in the floor to fill the "u" in the drain pipe to eliminate the smell. it did not solve the problem. I should have asked for another room, but I did not really notice it until I had already made myself at home in the room and came back later in the day. I was only there for one night for a biz meeting in the morning so decided I'd tough it out...figured the same thing would happen in another room anyway.

Walls are thin, doors are thin and noise carries badly. bring earplugs.

Dinner in the hotel was ridiculously expensive...I spent almost 300DKK on an entree and a beer ($56), no starter no dessert. They were out of the pork, so I had to go with the filet of beef, but the price differential was pretty minimal. I did not have a car so could not go looking for something else...besides, there seemed to be nothing nearby. Breakfast buffet was free and was lackluster. Eggs were powdered....come on, powdered eggs, seriously???

My DK biz partner likes to put people up here....I am going to have to insist on staying at a different Scandic.

I have never ever before checked into a hotel and then just left one hour later. I was in Copenhagen on a business trip and the travel agent had booked this hotel. Scandic is a well known brand in Scandinavia and they are know for good standard hotels.
This one was a dump though.
I was booked in a non smoking room but as I opened the door the smell hit me. It was really bad. The room was small and really dirty. My colleague was booked in a room for smokers and I can only imagine what it must have been like for her.
We went down to the reception to at least be able to get other rooms but the hotel was fully booked (there was a youth tennis tornament in the area)
We could then leave the hotel without paying anything and find another. Thankfully!

Avoid this hotel at any cost!

First it's a long way from public transport, making it inconvenient. Arriving after 11pm, I was ignored for ten minutes by the receptionist. He was dealing with another customer for that time, but not even an acknowledgment that I was there. I booked a wake-up call - my phone rang five minutes late to tell me my taxi was waiting! But those are minor issues.
The staff generally was impersonal, certainly not welcoming. Food was OK but formulaic. Breakfast was spoilt by the juice - reconstituted concentrate in a machine. Signs of cost-cutting everywhere, for example only two small and cheap towels, no mat for the tiled bathroom floor, no tissues.
Which leads to the main issues: As soon as I left the lift on the accommodation floor the stench hit - the smell of stagnant, dirty water. On my second evening this had pervaded the room, through the shower drainage, and having the window wide open was not enough to clear it. At my request this was sorted out by the hotel for the third night, presumably by actually cleaning out the drainage in the room.
Which leads to the final point, the lack of proper cleaning: The washbasin area appeared to have been wiped, but not cleaned - there remained throughout the remnants of a previous guest's washing. The tumbler I'd used for rinsing my mouth was left unwashed. I left the hotel covered in what appear to be bedbug bites. I will not be staying there again.
