“Best Campground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2012

Perhaps one of the most scenic campgrounds in America, Kalaloch is located directly on the Pacific Ocean. Nice campsites located either right near the ocean or in the trees. Nice, clean campground and spectacular views. Have fun!

“Kalaloch”

We stayed in one of the Kalaloch (pronounced Klaylock if you don't feel like being corrected when you call on the phone for reservations) cabins that lines the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The whole campground is situated in a spectacular site. The view is dramatic and beautiful. The cabin itself is very very rustic and not cheap. We paid over $250 a nite when all is said and done - there are extra park fees and such added when you actually pay.

But when you realize how far out from business resources a lodge like this is - reasonable to understand the costs of operation. We enjoyed it, we visited in July, their high season and it was far from crowded! Food at the restaurant lodge was good. The little sundry store had a decent supply of items to make your own picnics.

“Camping there since I was a kid”

I love Kalaloch, it's one of my favorite places to camp in Wa. My family went almost every summer when I was a kid. The beach is a huge expanse and there's also a creek the empty's out at the beach. We used to use random camping junk to make boats for our family to race down the creek. I highly suggest Kalaloch as a camping destination.

If you are in the Olympic National Park area and looking for a great oceanfront campground your search is over. This campground situated along highway 101 has won numerous awards for best scenic camping and you will see why. Great bluff view with stairs down to wide open beach. Bathrooms are clean and rangers regularly patrol. Great find and a one of a kind. Cheapest oceanfront view you can get!

“Beautiful even in a downpour”

My girlfriend and I went out to kalaloch at the end of September because we just needed to get away. The weather said heavy rain and wind, and it was when we got there. The campground still had a lot of people in it but we still got a ocean front campsite right on the bluff. Everything about this place is gorgeous even in the wind and rain. We threw on our rain gear and had a lovely 2 days exploring the beaches north of the campground And all the tide pools at beach 4. It was an awesome time in the rain and wind and I can't wait to go back in the sun!
