“Beautiful even in a downpour”

My girlfriend and I went out to kalaloch at the end of September because we just needed to get away. The weather said heavy rain and wind, and it was when we got there. The campground still had a lot of people in it but we still got a ocean front campsite right on the bluff. Everything about this place is gorgeous even in the wind and rain. We threw on our rain gear and had a lovely 2 days exploring the beaches north of the campground And all the tide pools at beach 4. It was an awesome time in the rain and wind and I can't wait to go back in the sun!

Last week my husband and I went to Kalaloch for the first time. The sound of the ocean, the salty air, campfires, walks on the beach, etc. were a recipe for relaxation. We're already planning our next trip there!

Room Tip: You will need to reserve in the summer months. On off-season months you have to get there early to...

“Beauty and Solitude”

Who would guess that a campground that has 160 sites could be so peaceful. The sites are large and most of them heavily forested. The campground has several areas where stairs take you right down to the beach. There are hikes from the beach and no houses around to obstruct view. This campground you can reserve sites at, but I would do so well in advanced. Pack the mosquito spray & wear it when you are anywhere but the beach!
The tidal pools close by are a must see and must be done during low tide. The campground was clean, spacious, and well planned. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay!

“My family's favorite place on planet earth!”

My husband and I have been tent and RV camping here since we were married 33 years ago. We brought our children every year as our family grew. We love the beach, rain, wind and sun. As we prepare for our anual trip once more we anticipate over 25 family members to camp in the Kalaloch campground with us. We come prepared for cool damp weather and windy beaches. The misty rain forest is beautiful because of the high amount of rainfall. When the sun occasionally bares it's bright face, the Kalaloch world is gorgeous. Lots of wild lift to be found in the intertidal zone, as well.
We'll be back this year and the next with our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and various surrogate family members hunting for the pirate treasure that Black Bart and his scoundrels leave for us somewhere on the beach every year.

“Best car camping I've experienced yet.”

I normally avoid car accessible campgrounds, but the overall feel and proximity to the ocean has definitely made this a destination of mine for future visits to the peninsula. I do recommend jumping online when the sites become available to assure a site with an ocean view; I unfortunately wasn't so lucky, but I still had a great time. The beach is just a rustic staircase away, and fires on the beach at night are permitted (but for some reason no one was down there at night which actually made it a better experience). The campground is centrally located so we were able to jump around to the Hoh, Ruby Beach (not as great as its made out to be), Rialto (hole in the wall) and the La Push beaches (first, second and third). Beach 4 is also just up the road ( a few miles) and has great tide pools. I'll be going back to Kalaloch for sure.
