I wasn't the one who experienced the whole Peacock Garden Resort, but according to my Mom (who's a little on the OCD-side) the place is near perfection.

As for my experience with them from the reservations, booking, payments, etc, the whole Peacock Garden Staff was wonderful and helpful. Although there were moments when I thought they were slow in replying to my text messages, emails, and phone calls, but that was just me being a little anal about things. I tried to ask other resorts about my specific requests for my parents, but I discovered that the other resorts were slower in the replying. So comparing Peacock Garden to the other resorts that I tried to interact with, Peacock Garden came out a little better in the whole communications department. Not to mention they have a cool really easy booking system on their website which is operated by them and not outsourced.

It's true there's no beach in this resort, but they made it really convenient for my dad who wanted to hangout at the beach. The tour they offered also had more things than the tour I took with a different resort 6 years ago.

According to my mom, the place is really relaxing, the room was very roomy (we booked them at the Peacock Suite), it was exceptionally clean (more than what she expected), and the staff and owner is very hospitable.

The place is also near a Roman Catholic Church, so for those devout that need to attend mass daily, this resort is perfect! Peacock Garden offers their shuttle service to the church for free. The other resorts require a 500-1000php transportation fee!

Let me say from the outset that the hotel is very good and I would be surprised if anyone felt disappointed staying here. The manager went out of his way to help and his lead was reflected by his ever-courteous and attentive staff.

The High Points:

* The staff definitely - very helpful at all times.
* The Rooms - spacious and with everything you would expect
* The Pool - loved it.
* The View - the hotel sits high on a hill and the infinity pool leaves you gazing over the sea and islands betyond - superb.
* Trips and Activities - the hotel is off the beaten track, not too far from town or beach but not walkable to anything of interest or even a shop, so unless you have a car, you either arrange going out yourself or do it through the hotel. My advice - use the hotel. They arranged virtually everything for me and it was superb - ATV's, Adventure Parks with superb ZipSlides and massive suicide swing - a bungee jump with bells on, dolphin watching, the famous Chocolate Hills, etc, etc. One day I used a 'hotel' car to get us to the beach and it was 500 Peso's. Deciding to be independant I got a taxi back ......................... 1,000 pesos!

Downsides...................not many at all, and mostly say more about me than the hotel. I thought the piped music at the patio bar was a bit stale and in fact thought they could have made more of that bar - it is a bar in name and little more - the drinks are brought from the bar inside.

It niggled me when the waitresses cleared away my plate before my partner had finished her meal and it happened every time so it must be policy - this made my partner feel uncomfortable and immediately stop eating - a little thing but wish they had waited for us both to finish. On the waitresses - and this seems endemic to the Philippines and not just this hotel - why do they insist on making the staff wear tights / stockings / hosiery??? I really don't like it and find it totally unecessary, compounded by the fact that every girl in the Philippines seems to choose the most unflattering shade / denier ever made! In my opinion the only valid excuse for wearing hosiery is during bank robberies!

I didn't overly use the restaurant but enjoyed it when I did. No idea why other commentaries question the appropriateness of the photographs there - Germany has a long and largely proud history and the owner, if you read or ask about the background has significant connections so why shouldn't it reflect that background? I liked it,

Overall I was delighted with our stay here. We stayed a week and would happily have stayed a little longer. I would not be surprised if we go back as I continue to explore the beautiful Philippines.

Well done to the owner / manager for having a wonderful place. Sitting here for 6 hours in Hong Kong airport, I wish I was back wallowing in the wonderful pool.

Room tip: I was in room 201 overlooking the pool and out to sea. It was very good. It was a two-storey complex and the rooma above may have had even better views but downstairs had better direct access to the garden and pool.

The people were really accommodating. If you're looking for a restful, peaceful and quiet vacation, this place is for you. It looks more like a huge estate rather than a hotel/resort so there's definitely a home-y vibe going on. Complimentary breakfast is served for the duration of your stay, too. And don't get me started on the food - heavenly.

To make it simple, the decision of picking this resort was the perfect one. I stayed here with my wife and daughter last December just before Christmas. The whole place was spotless, very clean. Food was great. The staff were very helpful, and well placed in the sense that you rarely see them but they're always there when you need them, which makes the experience very private. Gorgeous infinity pool, huge garden, super friendly staff! I just can't say enough.

Try to stay for 4 days 3 nights, 1 day for the Bohol Countryside trip which takes 8 hours, and day 2 for the dolphin watching, but you have to start the day real early for this (about 5 am). Make sure you have enough time to spend in the resort!

Safe to say, Peacock Garden in Bohol is highly recommended. Me and my family will definitely come back here on our next Holiday! We just hope you at the Peacock Garden can maintain all these good stuff, or improve them, just not sure how. Perfect.

The Peacock Garden is amazing. As soon as I stepped in, it blew my breath away! I never knew there was such a treasure in Bohol. It definitely takes you to a whole new world. The rooms are very clean. The staff are excellent! Always greet you with a smile and good morning/afternoon/evening. The food is quite pricey, but I must say, it was worth it. The place is very interesting, everywhere you look there is a piece of history. The tables and chairs came from castles of Europe, dating as far back as the middle ages. If you're off to Bohol for a getaway and don't mind spending a few bucks, then this is the place. It's a whole new world!
