The B&B is wonderful! We spent 5 nights here and it was exactly what we expected. The owners are friendly and although their english is limited they really made an effort for us. The whole property has genuine charm - the rooms are very spacious and the one we had overlooked the terrace, they are really clean, the breakfast is lovely and the food in the evening was 24 euros per person with wine with every course and 5 courses! You eat with Michelle and Jean Claude and they are very good hosts. The gardens are really lovely and they have their own Vineyard.
The hotel is right in the centre of the Medoc region and villages like Lesparre and Paulliac are about a 10 - 15 min drive. It is a really quiet region with not much going on but if you want to relax and chill and drink wine / eat cheese then this is ideal. You will need a car to drive around and if we did it again we would probably stay the night in St Emilion or Bordeaux just to break the trip up a bit. Make sure you book any wine tastings at the chateaux at least 3 - 4 weeks in advance if not a bit sooner. They get really booked up and if you want to visit the famous chateaux then you need to book in advance.
