We have just returned from 2 weeks at Club Pacific in Side. The hotel was lovely - the staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating, although the room was very basic. There were 4 of us - 2 adults & 2 children - we had booked a family room but our room was one quite small room with a double bed & bunk beds for our children. We met up with some other english families while we were there, and saw a REAL family room. This consists of a larger double room and then steps up to an additional bedroom with twin beds + plus an additional balcony. If you are a family of 4 or 5, I would suggest you insist on a larger room similar to this. Every room has a sea view though - if only from a distance ! The balconies are quite small, but having said all that about the room, all we used it for is getting showered & changed in and sleeping in, so it was acceptable for our needs.
Club Pacific is probably a 3 star by English Standards, but the pool is lovely and the Entertainment is very "entertaining" !!
It i in a beautiful setting right on the beach and the grounds are beautifully kept. It is not for the less mobile, as there are lots of steps and ramps to climb ! The private beach is beautiful and never crowded ! There is parasailing, banana boat rides, pedalos, jet skis and lots more available - all at an extra cost though (which we expected)
The food is "average". Very repetitive and lots of carbs ! (Potatoes, Rice, Pasta etc !). All we would say is that the restaurant has extremely limited air conditioning, so our mission was to eat & leave as quickly as possible, at the risk of melting !
A Turkish Bath & Massage within the hotel's health club is a must, although you must lose your inhibitions when a big hairy turkish male walks in to carry out the treatment !
The hotel is basically geared towards Germans & Russians, although we were lucky enough to meet up with 4 other English families, which made the holiday much more enjoyable. I have to say that if the other English families had not been there, I am not sure we would have enjoyed it as much as we did !
Captain Jacks Boat Trip is a must - again, all of the commentary and entertainment was in Russian - the 4 of us were the only English on board - however, the ship moors out at sea and you can jump into the beautiful Meditteranean either from the boat, down the slide on the boat, or off the jetty (beware - it's a long way down - more than you think !). The water is very salty but so buoyant and such a beautiful colour - also llke jumping into a warm bath. The food is not great on this trip though so beware - Chicken or Fish are offered but me & my husband both had an iffey tummy afterwards. Overall though, a trip well worth doing. The trip is full of childrens entertainment so gives the adults a chance to relax ! It is quite noisy though, and beware, although it says all the food & drink is included, take some money with you for corn on the cob & icecreams, as well as the photos that are taken !
All in all, a wonderful holiday. We went to relax by the pool and do nothing else, so it suited our needs perfectly. We would certainly return, but would prefer to be guaranteed more English residents - we were lucky on our holiday, but some people before us who left a few days after we arrived had not had such a good time as they had not seen anyone who spoke English.
We would definitely go back though, and thank you to the "Animation Crew" who made it all the more special !!!!
