“great food but average facility”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2009

a lot of russians but also with children so it was quiet at night
don´t understand why was the "aquapark" (= 3 slides but 1 was out of order) open only for 2+2 hours (from 10-12 and from 15-17) it was impossible to explain it to the children :( there is nowhere to go in Bogazkent by walk so all have to stay in facility or on the beach

“Perfect for a short break!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2007

Myself and my boyfriend have just returned from this hotel, the hotel was perfect for a short break.

The weather, food and hotel was lovely. Firstly though if you do not book hotel transfers to the hotel, please be aware that this hotel is not based in Belek as we were lead to believe, it is based in a small town called Bogazkent and the Turkish pronounce the hotel as i-din-bey. We got a taxi to the hotel and got ripped off, the maximum you should pay is 50 Euros. We would advise that you book airport transfers to the hotel.

The hotel has a large clientelle of Russians and Germans, we were the only English at the hotel. Some hotel staff speak English, we found the staff quite friendly and polite.

The hotel rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable. We had a small balcony with a sea view. Although the air/con leaked a bit onto the carpet. Overall though the rooms are of a good standard, you can rent a safe for 7 euros per week.

The food was very good, all buffet style lots of fresh salads, fruits and delicious cakes ( very hard to resist)!! All the food was fresh we didn't see any dishes made up of left over food. There is an Turkish Al a carte restaurant which you have to book in advance, do this on day one as it gets fully booked quite quickly.

The pool area is excellent pool very clean, the main pool though is all one depth, not suitable for very young children unless they are good swimmers. There is a smaller pool for very young children 1 -4yrs. There are 2 large slides, to keep older children occupied and adults as well!!!

The hotel has it's own beach, sun loungers and shades are provided, you can rent a beach towel from reception. The beach has gritty sand, also there are lots of pebbles as you go into the water, bit uncomfortable on your tooties. If the sea is rough it can be a bit awkward getting in and out of the water.

The only downside of this holiday was the night time, a show was put on every night from 9.30 to 10.30 then the bars shut at midnight. There was a makeshift disco no bigger than a large marque were you had to pay for your drinks and the music was very outdated. Everybody seemed to retire to their rooms after the main show.

Overall though this was a perfect break, and we thoroughy enjoyed the holiday. I would recommend this hotel, hopefully our review will encourage more Brits to go to this hotel.

“perfect for a short break.”

We arrived in Turkey at 3am and were taken to our hotel by taxi. On arrival we found the hotel to be closed. We finally managed to phone another Aydinbey hotel and after driving for another 2 hours we arrived at a very nice looking hotel. We were given wrist bands and escorted to our rooms with no explaination as the person in charge spoke little English.
We stayed for 2 weeks and had a very nice time despite the evening entertainment being repeated each week and not being very entertaining.
Lots of people from Turkey and Germany stayed at this hotel and their was no English rep to help us find out about excursions so we ended up being restricted to where we could go. The Turkish entertainment crew were very friendly but became quite annoying by the second week.
The hotel was very beautiful and the rooms were very nice. Perfect for a short break away.

“Nice hotel, not too fancy, not too shabby”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2006

Me and my girlfriend came to the Aydibey Famous Resort hotel, mostly because it was an "all included" deal.
The hotel itself is located in what looks like a farmer-town, about 50 minute drive from Antalya center, and generally not too far away from many interesting tourist sites.

The impression we had was that the hotel is brand new. Everything is clean, shiny and designed in good taste. the gardens are well-maintained and the feeling is overall relaxing.

I will review in two parts- one short and one verbose:

Short-and to the point:
Reception
--------------
Quick, friendly and easy check in+check out
did not ask for the Passport to be deposited
Can rent a car for 30 Euro at the hotel

Lobby
---------
Bar Opened all night
Big and comfortable
TV & music present
Shops: Drugstore, Leather, Cloths, Jewelry

All Included deal
------------------------
ONLY local alcohol is free: Beer ("Efes Pilsen", nice..), Gin & Vodka (cheap), Wine (one brand), i think they also had whisky
*Some other alcohol drinks are available for payment, but the selection is far from good
All soft drinks are free (Except for fresh orange juice, 2 Eur)
All hot drinks are free (Except for Turkish coffee, 2 Eur)
4 meals a day, all self service: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Midnight Soup
You need to pay extra for: beach towels, cake, all drinks before 10:00 (10am) and after 23:00 (11pm), Wine selection, good cocktails, massage.

Rooms
----------
Overall OK
nice big bed (not two separate beds connected..)
small porch
Satellite TV (with two music channels) (TV only has SCART connection, not AV!)
Bathroom was clean with narrow bath, toilet, hairdryer, body and hand towels
big closet
minibar (empty) + bottle of mineral water replaced every day
payable safe

Staff
------
They only understand Turkish and German!
Sometimes i failed to receive service or get a drink or get an answer for an important question just because the staff didn't understand what I was saying, and my English is quite alright.
They are not so nice in general, very impatient
Chambermaid walked into the room while we were sleeping although we put up the "do not disturb" sign and it took her 2 minutes to understand me yelling at her "go away!!"

Guests
----------
Mostly Germans and Russians
Not many kids, which was great!
average age was 33 i reckon..

Misc
-------
Nice pool
indoor pool is great
No Jacuzzi..
Turkish hamam was cool (and free)
Beautiful private beach with sun-chairs

Verbose review:

Lobby
--------
Lobby was beautiful, and games (cards, backgammon, and some box games..) were offered to the guests.
The lobby and lobby bar is opened throughout the day and night but for some reason they shut off the lights after 23:00 (11pm) and leave you sitting in the dark..(???)
Rooms
--------------
We ordered a room for 2 and what we got was a room with a double-bed (not 2 beds connected, 1 big bed) + 1 more single bed + a sofa which can also be opened into a bed. We connected the two beds together into ONE HUGE BED!! sheets were clean, towels replaced only when asked for. the was a mini-bar (empty, just mineral water) and a safe (need to rent a key from hotel). Small balcony with two chairs and a table. "scenory" from the room was overseeing other rooms of the hotel, so we had to keep the drapes closed at all times for a little privacy which was a bit annoying since the lighting in the room is not so good..

Food and drinks
------------------------
The food in the restaurant was decent. There were a lot of different types, great variety between every day. Not boring at all - yet nothing special. The bread and vegetables were always fresh and meat was cooked in-place, so it was also fresh and hot.
The drinks at the Lobby bar and in general are not so good.. except for the soft drinks which are purred from a Coca-Cola machine.
The beer is a low-standard white European beer (Efes Pilsen), but it's OK after you get used to it.
The cocktails are made using local alcohol and syrups, nothing too fancy, nothing too tasty.

All Included
------------------
I gave this a different topic because i wanted to note that the boarding is not REALLY "all included"..
All decent alcohol needs to be paid for.
There is no food other than the meals in the restaurant.
you can get free drinks only between 10:00-23:00
Cake with your coffee is free only at a specific hour (?!?!?!)
Beach towels are rented for 1 Euro per Day
The minibar is clean empty!

Misc Remarks
---------------------
There is no need for Turkish money! you will get bad conversion rates and either way, they except Euro and USD all over Turkey!
Watch closely for the conversion rates they give you when you ask for a price at a different currency because they will rip you off.
German is easier to learn than Turkish, and most Turks understand it too..
