Oh my gosh, where do I even begin. Firstly, A huge thank you to Anura, who is part owner and also manages Tisara Villas. He was extremely helpful when my mum had called him to book a villa for my family. He called her back, gave her directions, details of how things would go and made preparations with the villa staff for our arrival. He was present the next day after we settled in and told us about peaceful stretches of beach that would be lovely for the kids( sort of like your own private beach, about 1km from the property) Wijeya's for the best pizza in town( N.B. it is an open air, no frills place, but the food is exceptional) and how the villas had over 40 species of birds occupy the well-maintained gardens. It was really like chatting to an old friend even though we had just met.
When you enter Tisara Villas, it is like walking into paradise. Lush gardens and peaceful surroundings greet you in welcome. You are immediately silent as you observe the ponds filled with Sri Lanka's traditional flower- the purple water lilly- and the trees filled with birds and butterflies, just flying around you. Each villa is stunningly decorated in orange and white. The beds are gorgeous and four poster with mosquito nets, the bathrooms are indoor/outdoor type with mustard walls and rustic fixtures. Each room has air conditioning, also with a rustic style decor i.e. teak doors, armoirs and end tables. A villa sleeps four but can accommodate more small children. Take plenty of mosquito repellent though. There is no t.v. and no phone. I loved this about the place. It is a complete getaway. You also have your very own garden within the villa as well as a kitchenette complete with cups, plates, fridge, cooking facilities and dishes. You can cook yourself or ask the staff to cook for you. Lunch is available as an extra, but they do include breakfast and dinner. A special thank you to Namal and Dayananda who looked after us from June 20- 22. They were wonderful, always asking what we would like to eat, and taking care of our daughter who is allergic to all kinds of food. They were so kind, always ready with a smile. Do complement them on their cooking, they deserve it. I say it again. There is no service like it anywhere in the world. Sri Lanka has the best hospitality. We will be back for sure!
Room Tip: If you have kids, request a villa closer to the pool
