just comeback after spending 12 days at tisara villas.what can i say?great value for money--clean very spacious villas,we were a party of 4 adults and there was plenty space for all of us.
the large garden was fantastic ,full of different types of trees, birds and a big pool right in the middle.very quite and chilled, yet only a 15 minute tuk tuk ride to unawatuna beach.oh and the highlight for me was taking a dip in the pool late at night and just listenind to the resident frogs croaking away!!

“Sublime villas”

The villas are clean and well laid out around a great pool. The staff are friendly and attentive and there is a broad menu with a mix of Sri Lankan and Western dishes.

Reception can organise tuktuks and taxis and there are also bicycles that you can borrow to ride round Koggala lake/into town. There is a very quiet beach nearby which is great for an early morning swim.

We were very well looked after at Tisara and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

“Great value for money”

we were at the villas for 3 nights. We had a very good time. The staff is attentive and the ambience excellent. You wake up in the morning to the tweeting of birds. The villas are a bit isloted though so there is little to do in the evenings. Dining options are limited to eating in. While ordering food at the villas stick to Sri Lankan. If you like being indoors and finish a book, this is the place. There are three options in case you decide to go out. A trip on the Koggala Lake which about 15 minutes tuk tuk drive and costs about Sri Lankan Rs 100. The second option is the Unawatuna beach and the third option is about half an hour tuk tuk ride to Galle. When taking the tuk tuk use the villa staff to make arrangements to avoid being cheated and usual hassels of taxi drivers.

Room Tip: Each villa has 2 bedrooms, which can accomodate 4 people. Individual rooms cannot be booked.

“Very chuffed when we arrived.....”

We couldn't believe our eyes when we arrived at the beautiful villas, very secluded and totally private. We were greeted on arrival buy the wonderful staff and taken to our huge Sri Lanka style villa. The villa inside was huge and complete with kitchen, fridge 4 poster beds with mosquito nets, and to top it off outdoor bathrooms which the kids loved. The pool was lovely and well maintained, the wildlife a delight to watch from birds to squirrels and even monitor lizards !! Our only regret is that we should have booked for longer, a very chilled out and private place suitable for families or couples alike.

“What a serene experience, we will definitely be back!!”

Oh my gosh, where do I even begin. Firstly, A huge thank you to Anura, who is part owner and also manages Tisara Villas. He was extremely helpful when my mum had called him to book a villa for my family. He called her back, gave her directions, details of how things would go and made preparations with the villa staff for our arrival. He was present the next day after we settled in and told us about peaceful stretches of beach that would be lovely for the kids( sort of like your own private beach, about 1km from the property) Wijeya's for the best pizza in town( N.B. it is an open air, no frills place, but the food is exceptional) and how the villas had over 40 species of birds occupy the well-maintained gardens. It was really like chatting to an old friend even though we had just met.
When you enter Tisara Villas, it is like walking into paradise. Lush gardens and peaceful surroundings greet you in welcome. You are immediately silent as you observe the ponds filled with Sri Lanka's traditional flower- the purple water lilly- and the trees filled with birds and butterflies, just flying around you. Each villa is stunningly decorated in orange and white. The beds are gorgeous and four poster with mosquito nets, the bathrooms are indoor/outdoor type with mustard walls and rustic fixtures. Each room has air conditioning, also with a rustic style decor i.e. teak doors, armoirs and end tables. A villa sleeps four but can accommodate more small children. Take plenty of mosquito repellent though. There is no t.v. and no phone. I loved this about the place. It is a complete getaway. You also have your very own garden within the villa as well as a kitchenette complete with cups, plates, fridge, cooking facilities and dishes. You can cook yourself or ask the staff to cook for you. Lunch is available as an extra, but they do include breakfast and dinner. A special thank you to Namal and Dayananda who looked after us from June 20- 22. They were wonderful, always asking what we would like to eat, and taking care of our daughter who is allergic to all kinds of food. They were so kind, always ready with a smile. Do complement them on their cooking, they deserve it. I say it again. There is no service like it anywhere in the world. Sri Lanka has the best hospitality. We will be back for sure!

Room Tip: If you have kids, request a villa closer to the pool
