First time in Ibiza
We really liked the place & the hotel was perfect for us.
Almost on the beach.
Loved listening to the waves at night.
City centre & D'alt Villa both approx 10 mins walk
Rooms were spotless and we were given rooms facing the sea and overlooking pool, lovely view.
Francesco on reception was really helpful to me when my flights were changed at last moment by BA
The maid was the most cheerful maid i have met.
The rooms have a 2 ring hob, no oven or grill.
You also have a toaster an a kettle & you can get an iron an ironing board from reception.
There is one small frying pan, 1 small saucepan without lid, 1 medium & 1 large saucepan both with lids.
Each room also has 4 cups and saucers, 4 plates, 4 dishes, & 4 knifes forks, spoons & tea spoons, we also had a tin opening and a wine corkscrew and bottle opener.
We had a spatula but it wasn't flat so not much use
The towels are changed daily & that included a tea towel but take your own washing up cloth or brush.
Flannels arent provided so take you own
Also take your own shower gel as only soap is provided
The tv's in room are 18" screen, they only have foreign channels, no actual english programmes although eurosport was english once when i switched on.
The balcony's have a table and three patio chirs and a drying line, but no pegs, so take your own as the balconies can get quite windy.
The rooms have a bedroom with 2 no single beds in, a living room with kitchenette & a toilet and shower.
The shower pressure was excellent.

Booked an apartment direct and arranged own flights. Very cheap return tickets with Ryanair from East Midlands and then a short (number 10) local bus transfer to resort for about 3 euros. Stayed in block I - very clean and tidy. Room attended to daily by cheerful maid. When booking requested sea view and balcony - actually had 3 balconies !! (one off each room.) Fabulous views over 180 degrees of seascape from sunrise to sunset. Spacious living area and compact but well equipped kitchenette off. The central location is excellent. You can stroll into the old town either by the main road or along the seafront promenade and then through the road tunnel. Cannot fault this establishment and will go back again and see if we can buy an apartment in it from them !!

Just got back from a wk in the Mar Y Playa and just loved it!! We booked online via travelrepublic and werent quite sure what kind of room we had bought or which apartments we were going to be in(theres Mar Y Playa 1 and 2). They are right next to each other so wasnt a problem to be directed to the Mar Y Playa 2. We arrived quite late and were confused by the lack of air con in the bedroom so we requested to be changed which they promised us they would do the next day and gave us a fan in the mean time. The following day we were offered a choice of 3 other rooms so really got a great insight into what the hotel offered. The front facing ones seemed to be studios and had a great sea view but were smaller and had no air con because you could get a nice sea breeze. The side apartments were great and really spacious. the air con is situated in the main room with a separate bedroom but it cooled the whole apartment. We really didn't sacrifice a sea view as we still had a very clear view of the sea from our balcony. and to be honest we found it was quieter around there too.
Everything is so convenient to the hotel, a supermarket right outside with such cheap drink and food, all useful shops and beautiful views and restaurants. Also the boat to Formentera is literally on the doorstep. I felt so safe in this area also, and with my possessions. Taxi to airport 15euro, 20 to San An. We ventured into old town regularly as it was so close. For breakfast we usually ate in close cafes along the promonade for convenience but were all lovely and reasonably priced. I really really recommend the All Cafe Bar which is a stones throw from the apartments to the right. We ate there twice the food was so good, massive portions, just delicious. Be a little careful if ordering in English as one waiter didnt have the best communication with us on our second visit which lead to one or two mistakes which they amended perfectly. Try House Loos also just behind promanade, beautiful tapas and really really cheap.
The biggest compliment I can give this hotel is without a doubt the staff. They went beyond the call of duty for me and my partner and were so helpful with all our needs. We had some bother when we lost a passport on a night out things and we probably wouldnt have resolved them without their considerate help. Their english was excellent too.
only complaint is the maids do make a lot of noise in the mornings which echoed around the hotels, but only affected if side apartements. Someone mentioned the key was massive, but we took it off the keyring and on some occasions handed it in. Its no big deal, theres always someone there.
It was so clean, never saw one insect or anything like that. Towels changed daily, beds made etc

Defiantly returning next year!!

This is our 3rd stay at the Mar Y Playa. For the first time we were in the building with no air con. I'd always thought it wouldn't be nice over there, but its actually just as good. And they have a very nice pool aswell, but you can go across to the other 1 if you prefer anyway.

The rooms were always kept very clean, towels changed daily. We are getting married in ibiza next october and recommending out 40 guests stay here!
