“Relax & Enjoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

We were afraid that we would not find this gem of a place where we had stayed a few years ago but luckily we did and Mary and Patsy had a room available when we called at her door dishevelled and tired. After a very welcome pot of tea and fruit cake the journey was a dim memory. Moher Lodge was very good those years ago but now it is excellent. The rooms are very thoughtfully furnished and the breakfasts are superb.
Made all the better by the wonderful hospitality . Thank you both Mary and Patsy.

“Staying with our Best Friends!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2010

I can't imagine staying anywhere else, Moher Lodge is an ideal place to stay. Mary and Patsy were amazing hosts in the most lovely and comfortable home. Everything was just right. Comfy bed, delicious ,food, extrmely clean and fresh, helpful advice in an ideal atmosphere. We felt we really got to know Ireland's Burren area during our stay.
We loved watching the cows outside our window ,the shower and bed were outstanding. Mary is able to bring visitors from all together in a natural and easy manner. The Irish coffee, hot whiskey and cozy fire were an added bonus. We would have been happy to stay with Mary and Patsy for at least a week instead of our 2 days. It felt like we found our best friends in Ireland. Every memory and thought about this place is positive!

“Best B & B on our 10 day holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

I would highly recommend the Moher Lodge. We received the epitomy of Irish hospitality - we were welcomed on arrival by Mary with tea and freshly baked Guiness cake. Mary then dropped us up the road to the Cliffs of Moher so we could walk back at sunset. doolin is just 15 minutes drive down the road and there are 3 famous pubs known for their Irish music. The room was lovley, best sleep I had all trip. The breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and scones. The views were breathtakingly beautiful with a sea view to the left and the cliffs of Moher and fields to the right. enjoy

“Friendly, Comfortable, and close to the Cliffs of Moher”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2009

Mary and Patsy run a lovely B&B right down the road from the Cliffs of Moher. Mary was one of the kindest proprieters my husband and I met on our trip around Ireland. She is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and her breakfasts are delicious!

Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a room near the road, but the traffic was not noisy at all. It rained for two days, but the surfing beach in Lehinch and golf courses seemed to remain open.

We stayed at Moher Lodge for two nights as a base for touring co. Clare and for playing at some Irish traditional sessions (I am a musician). The Lodge is wonderful if you want to see the Cliffs, and Doolin, Lehinch, Liscannor, Ennistymon, or Miltown Malbay are just short drives away. There are two small pubs within walking distance, but they do not serve food. Lehinch (15 minute drive) and Miltown Malbay (30 minute drive) have some great restaurants. Note: Doolin is not a five minute drive as some people are saying: expect between 15-20 minutes to get there depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Although Doolin is advertised as the heart of Irish music, their pubs are full of tourists and the "traditional" sessions are often gigs. I would personally recommend Miltown Malbay (they hold the Willie Clancy school every summer) or Ennistymon for *actual* sessions. A pub in Lehinch has ballad sessions every Wednesday night as well.

As such, I loved staying here, but would probably choose a place nearer to Ennistymon or Miltown Malbay for music. If I was touring co. Clare in general, though, I would HIGHLY recommend it :)
