“An off- the-beaten path gem!”

My spouse and I, along with our two adult daughters, their spouses and two teenage grandchildren elected to spend Thanksgiving week on beautiful Barbados, at Sea Symphony Villa. It could not have been more perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the pool we used daily, and the villa was spacious and comfortable.

Although we tried several restaurants on the Island, nothing surpassed the wonderful meals prepared by Margaret each night. On the second day after our arrival Margaret accompanied us to Jordan's Supermarket to purchase the groceries for the meals that we had selected from the menu provided at the villa. The market is about a 15 minute drive from the villa, but it seemed farther because of all the road construction and the winding, twisty two lane roads. Later in the week we took the short drive into Speightstown and bought fruit, vegetables and fresh fish from the vendors. Most evenings we dined out in the upper gazebo, cooler than in the house, and where you could hear the waves, the crickets, and the frogs chirping.

The villa, located on the northwest part of the Island is a good launching place for day trips to explore all of Barbados. Each day was a new adventure and we visited Harrison's Cave, the Wildlife Preserve, zip-lined at the Aerial Trek, shopped in nearby Speightstown, toured the Mt Gay Rum Distillary, and strolled around Bridgetown. Signage on the roads is not good, and it is easy to get lost, even with a GPS.

All in all we were very comfortable and content at Sea Symphony and felt well taken care of by the staff. A compact car provided by the owners was included in the cost of the villa, and in addition we rented a small Mok which was great fun to drive and ride in, especially in the rain. For beach fun, we would recommend Heywood's Beach, just a short 10 drive, where we rented jet skis, swam, and relaxed. Parking there is easy and plentiful. Overall, this was both a relaxing and yet adventurous vacation.

“Beautiful villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2010

We had a great time during a two-week stay with family and friends. The owners were very accommodating and the staff was excellent. The house is wonderful for relaxing by yourself or for sharing each other's company, and it's just a few minutes from Speightstown. There is a path from the property down to tiny Fryer's Well beach, but it's arguable as to whether it's really a "beachfront" villa or would be more accurately described as a "beach access" residence. The property is a bit of a pie shape, with the beach path located at the sharp point of the pie. There is another house just finishing construction that is actually right next to the beach. The villa's large upper veranda has wonderul views over that new house and out to sea, since Sea Symphony sits up the slope a bit from the cove and the new house.

“Perfect villa for a small wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2009

Just returned from two weeks in Barbados.... 12 of us stayed the first week at Sea Symphony Villa. What a beautiful place! Very spacious and airy, lots of places tucked away to read a book or enjoy the sea breezes, and even more cozy gathering areas..... by the pool, up in the gazebo, on the upstairs balcony.... The beach, while small, was the perfect size for the twelve of us, and just steps away from the villa. Early mornings were peaceful, the silence broken only by the occasional crow of a rooster (they crow on and off all day in Barbados, I guess they figure someone needs to get up). The monkeys arrived across the street from the villa around 6:30 am, and had fun working for their treats of bananas by entertaining us.
A car was included with the villa, but because there were twelve of us, we also rented two vans.... you WILL need transportation, as the villa is in a relatively remote location.
Margaret took care of providing us with delicious meals, what a great opportunity to try new dishes. For the wedding reception, a great buffet was served.
We had our wedding ceremony in the gazebo, a beautiful spot with wonderful cooling winds, then pictures by the pool with wonderful foliage as our backdrop, then down to the beach for even more amazing shots.
Overall, a great choice, we all want to go back!

“A great Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2008

We stayed here for a fortnight in August 2008 and had a wondeful time. The villa is beautiful. It is spacious and all the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The location of the villa is peacefull and 30 yards from a small beach. There is a nice pool that is cleaned daily. The villa is kept exceptionally clean by the on site staff and is very well maintained.

Speightstown is 5 minutes by car, Holetown 15 minutes and Bridgetown 30 minutes so you are never far from all that the west coast of Barbados has to offer. The villa rental includes rental of a mid size car. There are several great restaurants nearby and the villa has an arrangement with a local taxi firm who will transport you all to and from them if you require.

The service includes the provision of a full time chef (Margaret and she is a superb chef!) The way this works is that you buy the groceries and margaret will prepare meals for all of you to your own particular taste or to her own recipes. you simply let her know in advance if you intend to eat out. Also included is a full laundry service. All items placed in the laundry baskets in each room are returned the following day washed and pressed. It is hard to fault the experience and I can reccomend the villa. The owners are genuine people who have developed a holiday experience that is top class.

  • Liked — The Master suite is superb. Also lots of space and seating to enjoy the sun.
  • Disliked — Leaving it!

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

My family and I have been to the Caribbean a total of nine times and by far this trip surpassed all others. This was the third time to the island of Barbados, but our first in staying at a villa on that island. I must say that the island is beautiful with gorgeous beaches. The villa and its staff were so excellent that both my wife and mother-in-law has forced me to book the same villa for next year. The villa is situated in the north of the island and it is in a tranquil and quaint area so that we could have some rest and relaxation. The amenities were more than acceptable; a pool which was always occupied by the kids while we went down to the beach which was a stones through away; a barbeque grill which we used three times as well as a mini gym with a treadmill which my wife insisted on using daily so as not to put on too much weight from the delicious meals made by Margaret and Ann. There was more than enough space in the villa for family activities as well as for some of us to get a peaceful rest while others ( the kids usually ) were still awake.

I could go on and on about Sea Symphony and Barbados, but the long and short is that we are going to be back next year and probably for years to come. We are avid travellers who have stayed in some of the finest hotels in the Caribbean ( Half Moon and Ritz Carlton in Jamaica, and Maho Bay in St. Maarten ), but we have to say that Sea Symphony and Barbados was something EXTRAORDINARY for us to remember.

We give it two thumbs up and we will see you guys next year!!!!!!
