“Highly recommended!”

We loved our short stay at this exquisite boutique hotel. We received a warm welcome by its French-Tunisian owner, who made us feel like family from the start. We were invited to have dinner with her and the other guests prepared by the marvelous cooks who let us look into her pots at leisure. The grounds are very well kept, the rooms decorated with great style and care and the hammam was a welcome refuge on a rainy Taroudant day ( believe it or not our visit coincided with this once-a-year event). We will come again.

“Truly stylish property in an unbelievable setting”

Just returned from 18 days flashpacking around Morocco. We stayed two nights at Kasabat Annour, a beautiful place set with the city walls as part of it's boundary,,,,truly amazing. The whole place is so stylish and relaxing.we happened to be there at the same time as owner Tourika and her family.......this made our stay all the more enjoyable. Everything about the place has been done to a very high standard and the staff care for your needs without hesitation. On our final night we joined the family and other guests on the roof terrace for our evening meal. The terrace is enormous and we dined in luxury around low tables sat on moroccan rugs and cushions with a fire blazing away under the stars lighting up the terrace and city walls....This was without doubt the most amazing night of our holiday...one to remember for ever. We took a caliche trip around the city - not just a touristic trip, the locals use the caliches as taxis. Do it but get the hotel to find you a driver....a little more expensive but you'll get value for money, and not a rushed trip.

“Fantastic Kashbah”

Kasabat Annour is an amazing place in the medina of Taroudant. Part of the property boundary is the city wall of the Medina which makes for an incredible atmosphere. Everything in this place is so incredibly beautiful, in my opinion it is worth visiting Taroudant just to go to this place! The owner has an eclectic taste and is a very interesting person to talk to. We very much regretted that we only stayed there for one night. It would be very easy to stay there for a week - It is a real oasis. Also, there are semipermanent tents on the premises and they are an affordable option to enjoy this unusual place, they looked very comfortable. There are many common rooms, all beautiful, and even a small "movie theater" as well as a hammam on the premises.

“Absolutely Fabulous”

What a fab place to stay. There's only 10 proper rooms. We had a suite with adjoining rooms and 2 amazing bathrooms and balconies for 150 euro a night with breakfast. It has been refurbished in a Moroccan style with fantastic chandaliers and wide beds. Tucked into the old walls we also saw a wild monkey.
It would make a wonderful place for a big group. There is seating in the garden and on the roof. We had the whole place to ourselves with 2 small children and they loved it. The pool and grounds are spotless, it's a quiet oasis away from what is a dusty and noisy but very real Moroccan town. Dinner by the poolside was 12 euros each (free for the kids).
Lovely lady owners and staff always on hand but totally un obstrusive. The souks aren't touristy and the shop owners quite laid back. Take the horse and carriage around the walls but take a walk round town. You'll need to haggle the price of course.
The map in Lonely Planet is incorrect. The correct location is at the top of the same lane, but on the other side and needs to be approached from the next gate up along the wall, not the main town gate. It's just a door in a wall and easily missed.

“A Jewel in the Kasbah”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2009

We visited this hotel (Maison d'Hotes) in the last week in September 2009 on the recommendation of some friends who had lunched there on two occasions. It had also featured in the Conde Naste Traveller.
Four of us went for lunch on two occasions during our week stay in Taroudant, but were not staying at Kasabat Annour. (Non-residents can lunch or dine there.) However, on our first visit, the charming owner showed us around the whole hotel, so we feel we are able to comment in the hotel section of TA, as well as the Restaurant section.

The hotel is stylish, chic, beautiful and an oasis of calm. The setting within the Kasbah walls is fabulous. Indeed, one of the rooms (a Borj) is actually set within the walls. All the rooms have been decorated to an extremely high standard and each is different. Indeed, if you would prefer to stay in a ‘Moroccan’ tent (Caïdal) for the night, then this is also possible as there are some four or five in the very large gardens. When we say tent, we mean absolutely ‘high end’ tent with a proper beds, floor covering and electricity. There is a wonderful swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds, a full spa and hammam.

Had we not already paid to stay in the Palais Salam (see our review), we would have checked out of there instantly and moved straight to Kasabat Annour. The food was superb on both occasions and we felt good value for money. The first time we went it was served on the patio and the second time under an awning/tent in the gardens. Service was impeccable and attentive.

We cannot speak highly enough of this place. It is truly delightful. When we return to Taroudant, which we surely will, Kasabat Annour will, without doubt, be where we stay. Can’t wait!
