Just returned from this lovely hotel. It may not be 5 star but the service certainly was, courteous attentive service all the time, nothing was too much trouble. The food was far better than you would expect for this price. A wonderful selection of salads and a choice of fish, meat and curry and various vegetable dishes. We had our wedding anniversary there and were served a champagne dinner on the beach just a few feet from the restaurant. All the staff were fantastic with a special mention for the manager and Anoushka and Gino. Everybody made you feel special.
The room was comfortable and was kept perfectly by the room attendant. We overlooked the pool and we loved sitting on the balcony and listening to the live music, we could also watch the Sega dancing from there but we usually watched from the bar. The whole atmosphere was wonderful.
The beach is not the best but was very interesting seeing the fishermen come and go and seeing local life and the excitement when one of the fishermen came in with a 120 kilo Marlin.
The free shuttle bus was very useful taking us to the sister hotel La Plantation at Balaclava, the beach there is one of the best on the island.
The local bus stopped outside the hotel for Port Louis about every 15 mins and you could go the other way towards Grand Bay with one easy change at St Josephs.
All in all a lovely place to relax with nice low key entertainment .
