“Affordable & Nice.Good for Indian Honeymoon experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Affordable & Nice option for those planning Honeymoon. When I first read of this hotel I thought It was fr French because of the les in the title. But it was one of the hotels in Mauritius. We went here frm 12-18th Nov

Honestly , this hotel was booked as we did not have many bucks in our pocket & wanted to visit Mauritius. After much research & negotiations with tour companies , we came across Antilog Vacations which is a bulk dealer for Mauritius honeymoon packages in India.Their rates were good & services absolutely delightful.

Les cocotiers is located around 40 mins from the airport is a small & cute hotel at one of the beaches. The hotel entrance will look exactly like a hut in Stone Age; it reminded me lot of Flintstones cartoon. It was different …... The staffs were extremely friendly & greeted us well.

The rooms were pretty neat & clean with tantalizing smell of flower bouquets in all rooms, small in size and compact in nature with a night lamp next to it. This was one of the hotels where I saw the bed colors were pretty vibrant in dark blue & green… Be careful in selection of rooms as the garden rooms are little smaller than the sea facing rooms.

The lobby is like an open air area where you can hang around & have a coffee in the same time have the freshness of the sea. The swimming pool is also nice. The lobby is decorated in red & black. Hence giving a fiery feeling of the entire place…

Entertainment is a great advantage here with live bands performing 1 day in 5-6 days or a week. The place rocks for partying. I guess all those party freaks who want to have fun this is the right place to be.

The beach is another mind blowing beauty the resort has. I got to experience loads of water sports e.g. Para sailing is one major activity here. You need to be careful and the person must know how to swim as you can get hurt in the process.

Honeymooners would find it a good property to be in

Room Tip: The lowest cost room..haha..honestly ,

“WELL DONE FOR NEW YEAR`S EVE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

For a small hotel. The new year`s eve celebration was good value for money. Good food and good sega show for entertainment.
Unfortunately, the set up for the dinner has to be modified because of the rain, as some tables were set around the pool.
The room was clean but the furniture needs to be renewed or refreshed.
The staff, mainly at the reception was helpful and pleasant. Special congrats for Robert and his team for the wonderful organisation

“Friendly hotel, professional staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

We have just completed two weeks pre-Christmas de-stressing in Mauritius, This was our first visit to the island and this hotel and location provided an excellent base for exploring and chilling.

Good points - staff and management team are warm, attentive and flexible. The hotel has its own pool with ample loungers and a clean beach area. Its not a swimming beach but the pool more than makes up for this.

The rooms are cleaned every day and during our stay the hotel was being refurbished by the new owners, nothing intrusive but visibly being improved by the day.

No negatives for us really but be aware that the evening meal is a buffet which is mainly indian and creole dishes (which we liked!). However if you need or want something special the chef is more than obliging.

Would we go back? Yes.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms sre slightly larger and have a bigger balcony. Upstairs also ensures a sunset view.

“A very comfortable and reasonably priced small hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

The reviews on this hotel are all pretty accurate - it really is a very homely and lovely spot away from all the usual tourist hotels. From about a month ago (Sept 2011) it is now operated by the same group of hotels that operates Le Recif, which is my all-time favourite little Mauritian hotel, but which was full at the time of this visit. As a result of the change the shuttle to La Plantation no longer runs. I like it for the high service level, its excellent value for money and that it is close to Port Louis for business meetings. I think the menu could become predictable - but I ate out at other places a lot. Only two small negatives - no safes in the rooms for passports & forex, and the pool chemicals were extremely hard on the eyes - they need a salt chlorinator! Otherwise a great hotel..

Room Tip: The path to the staff quarters runs past room 119, so there is constant traffic there.

“Excellent value hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

The Les Cocotiers may only be 2* but gives 5* value. Staff very attentive nothing too much trouble. Food plentiful and varied. Drinks prices reasonable. Don't go to the Les Cocotiers for the entertainment, it is only provided on the Saturday BBQ Night, if your not there then you will need to make your own.
The hotel is on the beach which is sandy man made at the edge of the hotel and hard sharp coral in the sea so you need shoes on to bathe. The hotel pool though is excellent and cleaned of leaves etc every morning. There is a courtesy bus to their 4* sister hotel 3 days a week but drinks and snacks prices are much dearer than the Les Cocotiers but the beach is sandy.
Rooms are basic but large and airy. The air conditioning is worthwhile and makes sleeping easy as the temperature doesn't drop much in the evening.
