Kikuo picked us up from the Hakuba-Happo bus terminal in the freezing cold late on Friday night and immediately we knew we had picked the right place. We jumped into the car and Kikuo was already cracking jokes and making us feel welcome. We arrived at the hotel and Kikuo gave us a tour of the place which was quaint, warm and homely and a short walk (2-3 minutes) from the Echoland restaurants and the shuttle bus stop to get to the slopes. We managed to knock back a few too many rums at the Reggae bar Kikuo recommended to us and woke up feeling sorry for ourselves but were able to delight in having freshly made Gree Tea Pancakes served to us with hot coffee, fresh fruit and juice. We both instantly felt better, went to the nearby ski hire place, organised gear (with a very generous discount thanks to Sidehill again) and hit the slopes. We finished boarding during the day and came back for a boiling hot tub and to sit on the comfy couches by the fire. We went out for a few more drinks and came back for a good night's sleep in the cosy rooms. A perfect day at a perfect place. The next day was equally as pleasurable. Our biggest regret was that we didn't eat dinner at Sidehill as the food looked and smelt inredible. We'll have to go back for that next time!! Highly recommend this place.
