“little piece of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

after a long train trip from England and 3 days in Fez followed by another train trip this was exactly what we needed. Friendly faces, amazing home cooked food and warm comfortable rooms. We were made to feel right at home, we didn't do much as the idea was to unwind but we never grew tired of gazing at the mountains or strolling around the gardens. We had planned to go on a trip in to the mountains on our 2nd day to vist a Burbur tribe and see some pottery works but unfortunatly rain put pay to that and we hadn't come prepared - oh well another relaxing day reading and eating what a shame!
There are a variety of trips you can choose from or just chillout and learn how to cook moroccon food.
The kasbar itself is beautiful and a real credit to the owners who had it built from scratch - really simply decorated with a warmth and style that makes you feel like you are staying in a rustic palace - highly recommended

“Beautiful oasis - wanted to stay longer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

We actually only stopped at Kasbah Timdaf for lunch. It was so lovely and inviting - the lunch was suberb - I wished we had arranged for at least a one night's stay. We definitely will be back to visit Jacqueline & Yannick - and the accompanying dogs and cats! I loved everything about this place.

“Beautiful”

I will add my name to the long list of excellent reviews for Kasbah Timdaf. We have just returned from Morocco having spent a couple of nights here as a relax after Marrakech but the two nights were simply not enough. A stunning hill top house and garden about 10 minutes from Demnate there are insufficient words to describe our warm evenings in the garden, lovely home cooked food and friendship of Yannick and Jacqueline and the attentive staff. This is the perfect location after Marrakech, a 500 Dirham taxi ride away around 2 hours from the airport. We went on the Berber experience day (450 dirham each) and travelled in Yannicks 30 year old Land Rover to a dream like valley. It was hot for April and the initial climb up was tough going, especially for my in laws who are in their 60's. The views were lovely however and the first top at a locals house for a mint tea and an unexpected cows head Tagine was very welcome (not sure about the head however!). We continued ever upwards but on a much gentler gradient to stop for yet more food with another Berber family, this time a fantastic chicken tagine and huge bowl of cous cous, we were nearly exploding. Our guide Brahim was great but spoke no English so I relied on my school French. The pottery at the end of the trip was brilliant, walking around the workshop and then 20 dirham for lovely handmade small tagines. I would like to say a big thank you to Yannick and Jacqueline, I am sure we will return one day, you simply must visit while it is as good as this. Can I buy it too?

“close to perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2010

I could write an essay about this place, but seeing the previous reviews its mostly been said already. Beautiful, tranquil, impressive - amazing attention to detail from the wonderful Jacqueline. Fabulous food served in an idyllic setting. etc etc etc.
So I'll try and find things to point out - we had a blissful time here, but its NOT suitable for anyone who doesnt like animals, as they have 2 cats, 2 dogs, (who accompany you on walks) 2 donkeys, falcons nesting in the walls of the Kasbah, beautiful but as yet unidentified blue birds who make an AK-AK noise at you every morning over breakfast, tons of bees. My son was in heaven!!!
We also loved the area... stunningly beautiful, snow capped mountains in the distance, villages almost hidden against the mountain side. Very untouristy, no-one tried to sell us any bangles bracelets or boxes!!!
Our room was large, airy and comfortable, - just one point, the ensuite bathroom has no door between it and the bedroom, so if you need privacy for your ablutions you may have to juggle shifts. we didn't.
would I recommend it - heck, if i had the money I'd BUY it!!!!!!

“Life doesn't get much better than this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

We stayed with the lovely Yannick & Jacqueline here at the Kasbah in December and found the experience totally extraordinary.

Finding this wonderful place made the fairly convoluted trip from London well worth it. Yannick & Jacqueline were the perfect hosts - welcoming, kind, helpful, generous, interesting and so much more. The house is simply magnificent and the freshly prepared food totally delectable. Life doesn't get much better than this!

It felt like we were staying with friends. Thank you for helping to make our trip to Morocco a fantastic experience.
