We stayed here as we were attending a function close by - the Smithaleigh was lovely. Very easy to find, great value and a great breakfast. The room we had was perhaps slightly on the older side but it didnt really matter as we knew we werent booking a brand new modern hotel. The bathroom was perfect and the shower was lovely. The only slight drawback for us was that the door to our room would not shut unless it was locked! Breakfast was fantastic with a lovely breakfast menu to choose from. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay, excellent customer service and great value!

The Smithaleigh was easy to find, located just off the A38 just before Plymouth.
We checked in and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room (No 4) located just across the courtyard, the room was very pleasant with enough room for the two of us. the bathroom was a nice size with a bath as well. The Breakfast was really nice, I had fruit juice and cereal followed by a full English and my Wife had eggs Benedict. there were also croissants. we also ate in the Bistro Restaurant both night and the meals were cooked to perfection. This is one Hotel I would not hesitate to recommend to someone else as I know it would be hard to find fault with.

Attended a family wedding in Aug 2011, we were told before wedding that the only room with disabled access was upstairs but unfortunately no lift in use! Booked another hotel (Future Inn) for an overnight stay which was great for wheelchair user. Unfortunately was not advised there would be no toilet with disabled access. This is a nice hotel but they must provide services for disabled access (see Disability Law). My husband is my carer but does not approve of having to take me into the Ladies to use the small access toilet there.

Were a bit unsure about a hotel/motel next to main road but have found service friendly, helpful and engaging. Rooms are what you need, clean and airy. Quality and price of food very good - had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all good. Even got real beer!
