Ok. Mixed reviews for this place, but it was one of the best places I stayed at on my trip. As people say, there are 2 sites, (1) on the beach, noisy, and (2) across the road, more peaceful.
The across the road rooms are in 2 buildings, and this means 3 categories. Category 1 is the downstairs rooms in the 2 story building (this building is designated 'E') which are cell like, but appeal to the young and the frugal with their 60RM price tag. Category 2 is upstairs in this same building : 100 RM for a room with one large bed and 1 small one, (a/c, fridge, hot water) and this is a good deal, but it seems to appeal particularly to those who are taking advantage of the cheap alcohol on the island and who want to kick on by partying into the wee hours on the varandah outside their room with their close personal friends.
If you are such a person, please remember that there are others close by who are trying to sleep.
Better by far for the less gregarious is category 3, aka the 'D' units, a series of freestanding pairs of single story units on the left hand side when viewed from the road costing a very reasonable 80 RM. Units D3 - D10 are a comfortable distance from the road.
Good points - a big room, a/c + a fan, a fridge, hot water, queen size bed, peace and quiet.
If you're picky - no remote for the 3 local channel TV, you have to ask for toilet paper (all of 80 sen in any nearby store), and, the windows are clear glass. This latter quibble is only for the non exhibitionists.
Summary : great location, good prices.
Warning - the liquor choices at the duty free stores at the port and in the main town are far wider that those in the stores at Canang. If you want the 2 litres of JW Black for USD45, no problems, but if you're looking for something more exotic, the shops in the town should be your first port of call.
