What a lovely place to get away and find that romance again. A small bed and breakfast with very accomodating owners, beautiful views and great breakfast included.

It is a very quiet little area so you do require your own transport, but just the right distance between Bairnsdale/Lakes Entrance etc for it to be peacefull and far enough away, but close enough to be able to go out and enjoy the area.

The rooms are very comfortable, clean and fresh. Slept very well and woke to an amazing view of the metung river.

highly recomend especially for romantic getaways!

Just got back from our road trip in Australia and felt I must write a review for this great B&B where we had the pleasure to spend one night during our travels.
The accommodation is a hosted B&B within the owner’s home where one end of the property has I think 3 or 4 B&B bedrooms, I believe there is also a cottage available within the grounds of the property. There is a communal fridge to cool your drinks and tea/coffee facilities. There is free internet access and a selection of DVDs and books to pass the time. The rooms are extremely clean and well furnished with a very comfortable bed and also TV and DVD. The property is set in its own grounds and has large gardens which slope down with lovely views over the Tambo river and countryside. Metung is a 5 - 10 minuet drive up the road where you can find cafe's and restaurants for dinner. Breakfast is a gourmet affair and is amongst the best I have eaten. Pearl the owner of the B&B is a fantastic cook. Breakfast is served in the conservatory dining room which has a very nice view to enjoy while you’re eating. Overall the best thing about Chestnut Hill is the owners Pearl and Malcolm who can't do enough to make sure your stay is enjoyable and are very helpful with local knowledge of where to go and what to see. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for one night in February 2010 in the cottage outside the main house. It is a nice little place on your own: lounge with kitchen, bedroom with spa, and bath room. All well maintained. No internet access in the cottage. Breakfast provisions are placed in the refrigerator. The lady of the house is very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay, just outside Metung.

We spend 1 night at Chestnut Hill on our way to Melbourne. Because it was my birthday, we booked a diner in advanced.
The owners are very warm and friendly people. The welcome at the Bed and Breakfast was great. We booked the Lavender room and the room also was great with a wonderfull view. Diner was excellent and also breakfast is well prepared. Swan Reach is a small place but close to a lot of nice places in the area. If you don" want to stay in touristic places like Lakes Entrance than Chestnut Hill is realuy worth it to spend some time.
