We stayed at one of the apartments (1A) for four weeks during July 2011. The owners, Rosemary and Andrew were very friendly and the location on the seafront was excellent. However some negative aspects of the stay need to be noted. The additional money for electricity was a tad annoying – this was required to run all electrical appliances, viz. fridge, oven, TV, socket lighting, water heater and kettle. The only power you get for your weekly charge is central heating and ceiling lighting. Sheets and towels are only changed once a week. Also much is made in the advertising of wheelchair access to Apartment 1A – there is a ramp from the back door but once the wheelchair is in the bedroom, a wheelchair cannot access or use the bathroom and a bed also obstructs access into the living room. There is too much clutter in the living room - eight coffee tables, one dining table with four chairs, four lounge chairs, a bed / settee and a trolley. We had to use a suitcase for most of our clothes as there was no chest of drawers in the bedroom – perhaps some trading could be arranged! One real asset was the free wifi and a nice touch was the local tourist information display and the small book, video and DVD library. The apartments are near to bus stops, a Metro Station, local shops and the beaches of Cullercoats, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. Regardless of the nitpicking I would happily recommend these apartments, especially for the great view of the bay at Cullercoats.
