with my wife and my son 11 years old we have done a short visit to this park,only 10 minutes away from lugano by train.
Beautiful castels, and a lot of animation stimulate the interest to come back to Swiss!

Now this place has to be seen to be believed; it^s simply amazing. Thsi was actually not my first visit, but it charms me a new every time. See Switzerland on a 1:25 scale, the most well known and important buildings, monuments, sites, you name it, beautifully landscaped with paths that let you get right up close to the buildings. there are also model trains - one you can sit on and travel around the park. You can see famous mopuntians with the cable cars going up them, etc. No use listing it all, it's simply astounding, and very well done. There are also a restaurant and a gift shop, of course. You can drive there - just a few minutes from Lugano - and use the parking lot, or you can take a ship from the main port at Lugano and do the fairly short but very scenic cruise,. If you come from other swiss cities there are special deals for combined train tiocket / 50% discount for the admission fee at Melide. I donpt know if that's a permanent offer, but it's being advertised right now.

We had a good time seeing the whole of Switzerland in miniature. Loved the trains cutely chugging along just like the real ones especially the glacier express . Was thoroughly impressed to see a miniature mt titlis with exactly similar gondola. The castles , chalets were also well made.but was surprised to note that we got only 20 percent discount on tickets with the Swiss saver pass.
Our 19 month old son had a great time looking at things of his size!

Swiss Minatur was really a time wasting experience, would have prefered to spend time in Lugano The only reason I visited the place was because of the kids. Still it wasnt fun for them.
