Just back from a five day stay at Culgower House which was a perfect base for golf in the Dornoch area and sightseeing in the wonderful far north of Scotland. The lovingly restored old house stands in its own beautiful grounds with sweeping views over open farmland down to the sea.Inside, the house is a stylish mix of the traditional and contempary which makes for a very relaxing and comfortable enviroment in which to spend time.Beds are superb,as is the bed linen and the modern bathrooms would not look out of place in a glossy magazine. Nothing was too much trouble for John and Catriona, the charming and very well travelled owners who provided all the information we needed about sightseeing and eating out in the area. Catriona produced a fantastic breakfast each morning, most of which she had grown, baked or made herself-eggs were laid by her own chickens. On our return each evening we were greeted with a pot of tea and delicious homemade shortbread.
So, is this the best B and B we have stayed in? DEFINITELY!!!!
