“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We booked here thinking that it was going to be a full-size 3-star hotel, not realising that it's what the AA refers to as a "3-star SMALL Hotel". This meant that we were unable to dine after 6.30pm because both restaurant areas were privately booked for the night in question.
However, apart from this, we found the hotel to be really rather good. Bed & breakfast price was about right. Our room was very spacious and well-equiped, with copious coffee/tea making accoutrements.
One possible minus could be that sound insulation (for our room, anyway) was not particularly good as we could hear activity in the room next door quite clearly. Fortunately, we had considerate neighbours and this wasn't a problem.
The bed was huge and supremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and promptly served.
My girlfriend always does a 'hair-in the-plughole' test before she uses a hotel bath and I'm afraid this occasion proved to be a 'fail' (no problem for me however because I'm a bloke).
Apart from this we thought the en-suite facilities were spacious and well up to the task.
There is a large car park incidently.
All-in-all we'd give the place the thumbs-up and we'd be happy to stay here again if we needed accommodation in the area

We stayed here on a last minute break which included a tour of Cornwall.
Warm welcome by the owner, lovely quiet location, the rooms are spotless and the food fantastic.
Wi-fi connection was good and the views from the room a delight.
The staff made you feel at home and if there is anything they can do to help make your break more comfortable they will.
We will be back !!!!!!!
Thank you

“My Very Favourite Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

I am a retired happily married businessman.
Since I first discovered Cameley Lodge over thirty years ago I have regularly been back - and it's always a pleasure.
The beauty of this hideaway location is perfection: views of the lake & hills are wonderful.
The welcome is very sincere, warm & friendly. John, Paula (the owners) lead the team well, by example.
And if you also like good food & wine, look no further.
Nearby attractions include Bath, Wells and Cheddar.

Room Tip: The rooms are all very nice; modern and first class

“Very Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

Stayed one night whilst touring on a birthday weekend. Lovely quiet location with helpful and pleasant staff when checking in, Hill Crest room comfortable and bright with pleasant view to the nearby church. Booked an evening meal which was also very well prepared and prsented, a little hold up getting drinks at the bar but new staff being trained, but wasn't in a hurry sat out on the terrace and enjoyed the lovely view and quietness. Breakfeast also plentiful and well presented, checked out without having to see a member of staff but in keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Only points we had to mention was the glass lampshade in the room was broken and missing and shower mat was badly stained on the underside but these of very minor issues in the scheme of things. Good value, nice location and good food.
