We booked here thinking that it was going to be a full-size 3-star hotel, not realising that it's what the AA refers to as a "3-star SMALL Hotel". This meant that we were unable to dine after 6.30pm because both restaurant areas were privately booked for the night in question.
However, apart from this, we found the hotel to be really rather good. Bed & breakfast price was about right. Our room was very spacious and well-equiped, with copious coffee/tea making accoutrements.
One possible minus could be that sound insulation (for our room, anyway) was not particularly good as we could hear activity in the room next door quite clearly. Fortunately, we had considerate neighbours and this wasn't a problem.
The bed was huge and supremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and promptly served.
My girlfriend always does a 'hair-in the-plughole' test before she uses a hotel bath and I'm afraid this occasion proved to be a 'fail' (no problem for me however because I'm a bloke).
Apart from this we thought the en-suite facilities were spacious and well up to the task.
There is a large car park incidently.
All-in-all we'd give the place the thumbs-up and we'd be happy to stay here again if we needed accommodation in the area
