“Comfortable and Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Lovely place in a great location; nicely away from everything but within easy reach of Salisbury itself. A very warm welcome and great service.

The room (downstairs double) was really nice and spacious, with plenty of storage and a dressing table where I was able to set up my laptop. The bathroom is also nice and large, which is great for tall people! The windows looked out onto lovely countryside.

Breakfast was spot on, particularly the sausages! There was a good choice of alternatives to a Full English too, if that's your thing! Also, when my car wouldn't start on departure, they very kindly gave me a jump start to get me on my way.

For bonus marks, if you stay there on a clear night, stand out the back until all the security lights go off, then look at the sky. Spectacular!

“Old Mill House - Excellent -”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We stayed overnight with Maggie and Brian 19th Oct 2011, the rooms and ammenities spacious and luxurious, the furnishing etc suited the style of the old building and the nostalgia of its era, even the mill room was even furnished and you could go and see it. The whole house was furnished in the style of its era and with lots of trinkets and memorabilia pieces. The countryside around here is beautiful. The breakfast was awesome, locally caught freshwater trout, locally smoked and served with scrambled eggs, toast, preserves, juice and coffee/tea. There were other options on the menu, but this was the prime choice. We had wonderful stay and enjoyed your hospitality. Thank you. Karen & Paul Osman, Melbourne, Australia

Room Tip: The book out quite quickly we were lucky to fluke the room on the offchance with a late afternoon ph...

We stayed couple of years ago, but have very good memories! Welcomed by a perfect host, Maggie, who prepared lovely dinner and breakfast for us. The garden is beautiful, rooms clean and cosy. Loved their dogs! We certainly would stay again and recommend to all friends!

“Charming place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We arrived at 21.45 on the off chance that there was a room available, luckily for us there was. We had the 'Annex' as the other rooms were booked. This is a small apartment attached to the main building consisting of a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. There is also a kitchen, although this was not available for our use the two nights we were there. We didn't mind as we had a kettle, etc, in the bedroom and had only wanted one room anyway. Maggie let us have the apartment for a very reasonable price as it was so late when we arrived and so we ended up staying another night. The grounds were beautiful, totally unexpected, with a lake in the middle and a few tables and chairs dotted about. The choice of Breakfast was very good - with cereal, fruit salad, porridge, full English, etc., cooked to perfection. If we are ever in the area again we shall definitely stay here, as we loved it. Last, but not least, Maggie was a very charming host.
