My wife and me,Germans, no honeymooners, but near to the 50th anniversary of wedding, spent 3 nights in this wonderful charming hotel. The location of the hotel,furnishing and equipment of the beach bungalow, the views on the lagon and motu, the pool, the service and last but not least, the cuisine were excellent and difficult to exceed. Particularly remarkable were the friendliness and amiability of the whole staff.

We went for a weekend with our daughter (we live in Bora Bora)

Positive:
-the bungalows are clean and all the little details are really fascinating!! Wow !! Great decoration - classy but descreet enough with a great local touch.
-excellent food!! Did not expect such good choice of menu at night in Polynesia!! Bravo to the Chef! Breakfast however is quite minimal for the price of the rooms. Only bread, jams, a small portion of yogurt and stale cereal were not my idea of Bfast...
-location is really nice and quiet - what we wanted. Only 9 Bungalows hence not too many people there at any one time.
-Our 2 year old loved the pool ...

Negative:
- the bungalows have an open roof - kind of like a loft. Hence when it rained the first night we did not sleep at all ... You hear everything outside and evidently all creepy/crawly/flying things out there have free entry to the bungalow. It would have been nice if we would have known this beforehand. The mosquito net above the bed hence becomes a must.
-No Air conditioning - only a fan which makes no difference (in Aug = Winter here ). Afraid to say what it feels like during summer without A/C

The setting was beautiful, the rooms first rate and the service and food was exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I visited the island of Raiatea in March 2011 during a cruise
with the Royal Princess. We take the day to rent a scooter and do the spin around the island. We stopped at the Opoa Beach Hotel for a look and we take the opportunity to have lunch in the hotel restaurant. We order sandwiches, one of f tuna and other of cheese and ham accompanied by natural juice of pineapple ($ 10). The taste of the sandwiches and the presentation was wonderful. Despite their large size we eat everything.
We could also look at the other tables that the fish dish was also a very beautiful and very tasty . I recommend this stop for lunch!!!
