“A very special property in a very special location.”

Do believe all of the positive remarks in other reviews. None of it is exaggerated. This was a lovely location up against the rocks, very peaceful and quiet. Everything clean, modern, and tasteful. This was by far the nicest place I stayed in Greece, and at 40 Euros per night in early October, by far the best value. I stayed 3 nights, and wish it had been 5 for more leisurely walks in the area. My room was the corner room on the ground floor with a terrace looking over the garden and rocks. It had a king sized bed with very nice linens, and a big modern bathroom. This room is pictured in the hotel's photo array on booking.com. The map to the location is pretty useless, but there are small signs at each turn pointing the way. The first time you come in you'll be looking doubtfully at the steep narrow street up to the hotel, but as the owner advised me, put it in first gear, press firmly on the gas, and keep going! I can't recommend this hotel more highly.

“The Views will take your Breath Away!”

We stayed here Oct 27th and 28th. A bit hard to find as it is up a narrow, steep 'driveway' but well worth the drive! The location is awesome....right at the base of some of the most amazing mountain formations I have ever seen. Rooms are large, well-appointed, very clean and offer great balconies that overlook the Meteora area. Breakfast was the best we had had in our 2 week tour of Greece (bakeries in Kalambaka are amazing!!). The manager was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and offered us the inside scoop on which monasteries to "not miss' and where to get great food...very personable and accommodating! This is decorated like a posh lodge and really had the best beds since we left North America....go!

“Amazing views and extremely helpful staff”

We stayed at this hotel towards the end of our vacation and we were not disappointed - it was just the place to relax before we headed to the hustle and bustle of Athens. The rock formations are so impressive - a picture does not do justice to the awe inspiring views which were right in front of our ground floor patio - we had an end room in the back of the hotel which was very private ( you can hear the other guests on their balconies of course but you have your privacy) The room was very nicely decorated and very clean - very nice to have a refrigerator but there is a vending machine in lobby that dispenses snacks and beverages (including beer and small bottles of liquor) There is also a small bar too. We thought the breakfast was very good with a nice variety of choices. This location is much nicer than Kalambaka and really close to the monasteries. Try to visit later in the day and you may avoid some of the tour buses. The owner speaks English and was helpful and patient with our many questions. He referred us to a really good restaurant within walking distance (we did have a car and there is parking right in front of the hotel but we enjoyed walking through this quiet town) We really enjoyed our stay and would return again to this very nice hotel.

“Phenomenal!”

Just got here, and after 2 months travelling through Italy and Greece, this place is way the best! The really cool thing is it's our last two nights of our holiday, so such a great way to finish off! Don't be a fool and stay anywhere else! Book now! P.s. I'm like the last reviewer and wouldn't leave a good review unless I have too, and but after this place I have too!

“The perfect location for your trip to Meteora!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

I'm not usually one to write reviews but as I've used Tripadvisor to plan my present trip (through Macedonia, Albania and Greece) and it has not yet let me down, I thought that I ought to give a little back.

Hotel was perfectly located in Kastraki, we found that Kalambaka was more touristy and further away from the monasteries. Bedroom was beautiful, large and the most comfortable bed in the world, gorgeous balcony with views and the perfect breakfast.

The owner worked really hard to make your stay enjoyable, but I think he works too hard and he looks very tired sometimes.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone keen to explore Meteora, it's the number one ranked in TripAdvisor for a reason!
