I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past year while doing business at nearby Altenrhein Airport. It is a simple but pleasant hotel.
The quality of the food here is truly amazing, the kitchen is rated as 'Worth a Detour' by Michelin. I think that the restaurant - there are multiple dining rooms - is really the main focus of this business, and the rooms are there just as a convenience for people who make the trip to enjoy the food in the restaurant.
So far as the hotel itself goes, it is simple, but clean and pleasant. There are not really very many choices for hotels close to Altenrhein Airport, and unless you are willing to make a 20 km or longer trip to a nearby big city, this hotel (and the nearby Weisses Rössli) are pretty much the only choices. The Schiff-Buriet is a bit more expensive than the Weisses Rössli, but it is quieter (not as close to the railroad).
All in all, the Schiff-Buriet is a simple but clean and pleasant 3 star hotel, attached to an absolutely superb restaurant. Internet is free, the hotel is quiet and peaceful, and the staff are very friendly. The hotel itself is a wee bit on the expensive side relative to Swiss 3 star hotels, but let's face it, there is not much else to choose from nearby, so, you either pay the extra money for gas to drive to a big city 20 km away, or, you pay a little bit more than average to stay at this hotel.
