Went here for the first time today after my parents and friends had been, and they said how fantastic the food was.
And how right they were. The food was amazing. I had crumbed brie which was crunchy on the outside and lovely and gooey in the middle. Then I had steak which was cooked perfectly and sticky toffee pudding to finish. Everything was perfect. The waitress who served us, I think her name was Rebecca was extremely friendly and helpful. An asset to the hotel.
Would highly recommend this place to everyone.

I have been to this wonderful hotel twice now on a business trip with part of my family and I can honestly say both times were perfect the food is great the service is great fair prices for rooms and the staff are very polite my 3 and a half month old daughter was the centre of attention they made us feel very welcome and they also made it feel more at home thanks to all the staff at craigiebield house hotel for such a wonderful experiance

I took my family with me on a business trip and had a great experience at this hotel, the food was perfect, staff were very polite and a credit to the hotel. My 6 year old son was treated like a star and was very well looked after. The room was clean tidy and spacious. An all round good experience. Thank you to everyone at Craigiebield House Hotel

My partner (now Fiance) lives in Penicuik and this was my third visit to the Craigebield House, she was not my Fiance in August!!!!

I went to an 18th and the place was not what I expected at all, at least a year ago and did not really enjoy it, I thought it was old, tired, and not a place I would visit, but as we had been invited to a birthday we did go, but how the tables have turned

I have now been twice since then. Once in August 2011, Once in September 2011 but only for dinner

I think they have new owners/operators, or whatever the management is now!?

All I can say is BOTH my recent visits surpassed my expectations, it was fantastic, on my first visit, the service was slow as it was busy, but if you want a quick dinner and don't want an experience then you should not be going for dinner anyway, dinner should be enjoyable, an experience and not a quick affair, relax, enjoy and take your time, for all nights out, don' rush out for a one hour meal, especially with family.
They told us straight away it would take longer on our first visit
Honesty, the best policy! & we were not bothered in the slightest, sit back, relax and take in the atmosphere & all it has to offer

I do wish I had taken the name of the person that served us as she did serve us both times and she was brilliant and a true "salesperson" who really loves the place & the food, she made us feel so welcome & a great person to work here! (owners take note, a valuable asset to your establishment

The current owner came out and spoke to us, his name was Gordon and I could not tell him enough how enjoyable it was, and he was a fellow "Weegie" like myself & moved through to the east doing a different venture, offering a good place to be, a good service & fantastic food, his change of business direction obviously suited him very much!

Sandra had a burger on her first vist, her son Ryan had the burger on her second visit, it was glorious on both visits, the food has yet to disappoint, there was 3 of us on the first visit, 5 of us on the second visit, all the courses were great, the service was even better

I just cant fault the food here at all

I hope my 3rd visit lives up to the same expectation, as we will be back I am sure, and the person (Oh I do wish I had remembered her name) who served us is a true ambassador for the Craigiebield, management, please take note
