Ive been meaning to write this review for years, its time to share our well kept secret :) My husband and I had our Wedding reception in The Twelve on 27th November 2009 and it has come to be our favourite retreat and treat! They gave us such a wonderful Wedding, nothing was too much. The hotel is beautifully designed and the perfect combination of chic style and cosy homeliness. The West restaurant is one of the best to be found on the West coast, elegant, romantic and magnificent food and wine. This is a hotel for "foodies". The bar feels like a cool local hot spot and not the typical boring hotel bar you'd find in most other places. But what makes The Twelve most special of all is the staff. Fergus the manager leads this team of fantastic people who appear to love their jobs- so nice to see. They are so friendly and so professional. These people know how to do it well and all the while they smile and engage guests.
We have returned on both our anniversaries, on birthdays, and more recently we returned with our new baby boy to have one of our first family holidays. It never disappoints. And each time we come back the staff recall us by name and make us feel like VIPs! It's such a special place, we've tried looking everywhere else for a place that matches up to it, just to give us some variety, but we honestly can't find anywhere like The Twelve. Aideen.
