“Good value for money hotel ~ charming owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We had a 4-night stay at Lux Isla and took advantage of the room with car hire option which cost 56 euros per night for the room and the car, (winter offer), + 7 euros plus VAT per day for no excess on the insurance. We could have opted for a superior room for a further 15 euros per day and, in hindsight, we wished that we had as although there is nothing terribly wrong with a standard double, they are a bit old-fashioned and the bathrooms are definately in need of some refurbishment ~ apparently the superior rooms have had a recent revamp. Aside from this we were very happy with the hotel and have nothing but praise for the owner and his wife who run it. The hire car was a nearly new Fiat Panda and we were always able to find a parking space near to the hotel but can imagine it being difficult in busier times. Breakfast was more than adequate with a range of hot and cold choices. Contrary to some previous reviews, it is a good deal more than a 20-minute walk into Ibiza Town .... think you could almost double this unless you plan on running! We were glad we chose to stay in Talamanca as it is far less hectic than Ibiza Town. There is a well-stocked supermarket within 200 metres of the hotel. There isn't a huge choice of restaurants in the area out of season and our saving grace was a little bar/cafe just 50 metres from the hotel called Cafe Andalucia. Don't judge it from the outside - the food was very good, non-fussy and super value. Adjacent to the cafe is a bar/club which does get a bit noisy at about 3am so if you are a light sleeper would suggest you pack some earplugs.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and go for a superior room

“Nice place and reasonably priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

It was worth what we paid for since it wasn't expensive at all (Ibiza standards) and it was nicely located. At first we were supposed to stay in San San de Portmany, but thankfully my friends warned me that this is a really bad area. Talamanca is ideal because it's near the center and has a nice beach.

“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

We arrived at 1.30 am due to a late flight and on arrival the night porter gave us a very disappointing twin room, despite us having reserved a double room. He said there was nothing else available but that he would leave a note for reception to change us in the morning. This room felt cramped and dark and was very disappointing. Morning came and we were told that a "double" room is the same as a "twin" room, this is despite having emailed the hotel to confirm the booking and the double room a week before. Despite being told that nothing else was available and being pretty disappointed about this, 10 minutes later, reception called to say they had found us a new room - with a double bed. I think it may even have been an upgrade. This room was a great room, spacious, good bathroom, lovely terrace with a great view over countryside to the distant hills. It changed the whole experience. The room was quiet, so no one could hear us which was good for the other guests. There is no mini-bar which is a shame. Breakfast was ok, the usual international menu. The only negative is the coffee machine, I know its hard to get good coffee in Spain but the machine even pre-sugars your coffee...The hotel is just a few minutes from the quieter end of Talamanca beach so location is good, its a Eu10 taxi ride to Ibiza Town, or there is an infrequent bus service. There's also a great supermarket round the corner for anything you might need. Ibiza is not cheap but this hotel represented good value compared to many others. I'd stay again.

“Fantastic little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

Fantastic little hotel with a familiar treatment and proper service. The rooms are very beautiful with nice views to the beach which is right around the corner. Breakfast is varied and absolutely good. The location is also an advantage, as we were very close to the beach, but also a short bus ride away from the center. We would definitely recommend it and we will be coming back again.
