“Conveniently located but quiet with beautiful garden in the middle of Tokyo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

It was a nice surprise to find this quiet place in the middle of Tokyo. It is very conveniently located from two subway stations in the center of Tokyo but the property is in a quiet neighbourhood and has a beautiful Japanese garden. The view from the balcony also includes the Tokyo tower in the back.

The room I stayed was tiny but it was convenient and practical. The room of my parents was spacious and it was big enough for all of us to get together to chat. I liked both rooms.

The breakfast was quite simple but nice and very satisfactory.

I would surely recommend this place to friends, and I would go back there to stay.

I Stayed during my vacation. I enjoyed the beautiful gardens, friendly staff, Diner is generous, with many choices and fresh ingredients. Rooms are small and spartan, the interior design plain, I just do our own thing and enjoy every day. Good value, great location,
I WILL be back in Feb 2012

“Comfortable, elegant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

Stayed during a conference. Greatly enjoyed the beautiful gardens, friendly, bilingual staff, convenient internet access and global clientele. Breakfast is generous, with many choices and fresh ingredients. Rooms are small and spartan, the interior design plain, and the lounge closes early, so it's not for everyone. But since the hotel caters to academics, limited distraction has its purpose.

Room Tip: The more you can see of the garden, the better.

“Lovely gardens, academic atmosphere, much more class than a 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011

Wedding for a friend, they organized the location, they booked it for us. We just arrived. Having lived in Japan before I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Very pleasant!

The rooms are typically Japanese in compactness, but of course everything is functional and the lack of space does not mean that their is not a dedicated ironing room, together with a coin operated laundry on each floor! I didn't use i, but it was fantastic to know that it was available if I had a laundry emergency.

The restaurant food is great. Authentic international Japanese and the setting is very functional.

Staff were extremely polite and very professional.

The location in Roppongi is what it is. You can easily get to the subways and see another part of the city or enjoy the gaijin numerous spots up the street. The close proximity to embassies might be an incentive to some. Closest we saw was the Singaporean embassy.

Room Tip: Third floor offers you the best view of garden

“Beautiful garden, large rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2010

This is a very nice hotel with spacious double rooms and a stunning garden. Our room had sliding doors that went to a balcony overlooking the garden. Ditto everything another reviewer, Karabiber, said with the exception of the neighborhood. It's fine. If you go toward Roppongi in one direction you eventually do hit a really dodgy street with pickpockets and aggressive recruiters to the girly bars. Its not that close though. But if you go down the other street toward Roppongi or towards the Azabu Juban metro station the neighborhood is fine. Schoolchildren are seen daily happily walking home from school. That metro is about a 5 minute walk and has access to 2 lines. A very minor problem is that when returning from a full day of walking around Tokyo, you really feel that small hill on the way back from the metro. Had a lovely stay.
