Stayed here on our trip to see the Spain v Scotland game and it was great. Not only did the staff have to cope with a full hotel but the Spanish national team were staying here , so they had to cope with the chaos that went with that. hotel is right on the beach ,breakfast has everything you could want and more. the very small pool is the only negative in a great hotel. Defo would go back in an instant.

Hi I went to stay at the melia alicante last october 2011. The hotel was spick and span. The cleaning staff were wonderful. The breakfast buffet was to die for although I suggest you pay for your breakfast as part of a package as it is very expensive at 21 euro.... The front staff were friendly enough. The best thing about the hotel was the location..just minutes walk from the city and the beach and marina. We loved that.,..Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Went last weekend for 3 nights and were allocated a junior suite, so we had a kingsize bed (very comfortable), a separate living room, a full bathroom and also a shower and toilet. Good quality items. Our room was overlooking the sea. On our first night we were given a small bottle of dessert wine and chocolates which was a nice touch. The only downside was there was no air con. I know it's December, but the room was very warm, I asked at reception it if was on, and they told me it wasn't. We had to leave the balcony door open all night, which I wasn't very keen on. In a hotel of this standard, you should be able to operate your own air con. Breakfast was very good quality, I had pancakes made for me. Lots of different meats and cheeses to choose from.

Stayed here in July. Very nice treatment in reception. Nice room for 3-2 adults and a child on teh Level even though we were not booked in there-did not avail of the food and drink though.
Breakfast was fantastic-wine included-spoiled for choice with lovely Spanish and English food.
Pool was small but adequate but be careful as it was very slippery - I had a bad fall!
Eat in the old town-good choice.
Only fault with the location is the lack of activities for a 12 yer old child.
We are booking the sister hotel Los Pelicanos to be in the centre of things for him this year. It is 3 star but we are expecting it to be pretty good s they are of the same group.
