in a quiet isolated place on outskirts of city but handy for airport and motorway if touring.about 20 euro to city by taxi.there are some shops and bars local but have to walkalong busy main road[no pavement.ideal for business travel but not ideal for holiday.

Room Tip: rear room preferable away from traffic but no great view either way

“Nice, Clean, €10 in taxi from Alicante”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Alicante for the Scotland v Spain game. It's pretty much exactly inbetween the airport & the city centre, both are short taxi journeys. Hotel itself is usual Holiday Inn Express standard, we had a triple room which had air con & was clean & perfectly decent. Staff were friendly & helpful & breakfast was good. Perfect for a short trip visiting Alicante. The only downside is that there isn't anything nearby, not even a small shop as far as we could see.

“Good for 1 night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

This was one of three choices where to stay for free in Alicante, because I had enough loyalty points to have an award night. We decided to stay one night also in this hotel. Location was not important for us, because we arrived very late to Alicante and moved out next morning. Rooms are simple but clean and that's all we needed. But I can't imagine longer vacation in this hotel.

“Pleasant stay for a night”

If you are looking for a hotel to stay for one or two nights, or getting in late from a flights, then this is great value. We secured this as a mystery hotel from Expedia for a great price which included a basic continental breakfast. This hotel is 3km from the centre of Alicante, and there is not much else going for the immediate area surrounding the hotel, but if you are out and about with a car, then this is a clean and friendly hotel. The parking is free which we found very helpful with our hire car.

“Good clean hotel with great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

I stayed at this hotel once again after having reviewed it last summer. Overall the hotel generally improved especially the old carpet that was removed throughout the hotel ( it gave it a cheap motel look ). The hotel and our room were very clean and pleasant. The staff was great and helpful during our stay. The area of the hotel also got cleaned up it seems ( although I doubt the hotel has anything to do with that ) as I didn't see any of the prostitutes that used to line the road between the hotel and the city center, so that was great since it didn't make the hotel very family friendly up to now. The hotel is still quite convenient if you have a car, since it has a large free parking and easy access and is 5 minutes away from the Urbanova beach and 5-10 min from downtown Alicante. But without a car it may seem in the middle of nowhere. There were just 2 negative things to mention. First the breakfast dropped a notch since my last stay, no fruit available ( it was available in every HIExpress I went to in the last year at least ) and the juice was very artificial and quite bad ( I enjoyed it last year ). The other thing I'd hold against the hotel is just a detail, but in 2011 I would expect a 3 star hotel from a major chain like Holiday Inn to have flat screen tvs in the rooms instead of those old classic tvs they still have.
Overall, for the price I paid, I'm quite satisfied with this hotel. I would return there without hesitation and would recommend it to friends who don't mind using a car to get around.

Room Tip: If not a light sleeper, ask for a room facing the road. It's not that noisy and they have sea vi...
