“Decent place, but watch out for cancellation policy!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2011

Clean (in fact, the floor had just been shampooed, so our room was PUNGENT with a scent I can only describe as "detergent and fruit"). The "high speed internet" signal was so faint I couldn't connect. Bedding was clean, bathroom was clean, shower worked very well. Overall, it's what I expect in a good room. Desk agent ("R") was courteous and helpful.

Be careful--their cancellation policy says that less than 24 hours notice will result in "a fee." I asked, and what they don't tell you is that "fee" is the ENTIRE 100% cost of the room. If your travel plans change, BW will make a whopping profit - no credit, no rain checks, no partial refund, no discussion. Seems a bit unfair and aggressive. I liked their amenities, but tend to be very wary of ANY business that so conspicuously pursues profit over all other considerations, including accommodating customers.

“Nice but noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2011

Nice hotel, clean but no respect for other travelers. Consistently noisy after 10 pm with kids running through the hallways and loud drunks standing in the hallways for hours. Management ignores complaint calls and the party goes on. If you need sleep, stay elsewhere.

“Fine for what it was...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

We recently stayed two days for a family funeral. The staff was helpful enough, friendly, and polite. The continental breakfast was not much-didn't seem to be restocked that well one morning of our stay. The pool was closed for repairs as well, but we didn't really have time to use it anyways. The rooms seemed clean, but could use some updating-a chair had a broken arm, our door didn't shut completely without being pulled up to catch the lock. Again, it was fine for what it was, a place to lay our head at night.

“Dirty Sheets”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

Got a room with 2 Queens -- one bed had clean linens, the other had many assorted black hairs, a seed pod of some sort, and a piece of plastic from the tag off a new article of clothing. Continental breakfast nothing to brag about. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Tahlequah a year ago and had the same experience. Makes you wonder about the local health department's thoroughness in their inspections.

“Hotel admits: profit - not customer care - is what matters”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

The hotel refuses to allow me to cancel a pre-paid reservation because it's policy prohibits it. They would not budge to my requests to cancel and not be charged for the room in advance. Why? Because it's their policy! WHY is it their policy? "Because it's our policy." When I suggested that the real motive was to bilk that extra $90 from me rather than see to my satisfaction as a customer, the supervisor would not deny it and simply parroted the same training phrases: "It's just our policy." All I wanted was to be treated decently and have a simple cancellation request honored, but no. She would not allow me to speak to another supervisor.

If you've ever been frustrated by corporations that follow mindless "its our policy" dogma rather than responding to customers as people (and needlessly costing you money as a consequence), this is NOT the company to choose.

As a result, the hotel kept $90 of pure profit from me, refused to grant my cancellation request, refused to explain the rationale for this, and refused to provide any other options--a voucher or credit, for example. The one and only priority of the hotel was to defend a nonsense policy that would maximize its profit, without even token consideration of actual customer care. Be aware of this if you stay here: things may go fine, but if they don't you will NOT be considered a priority; you exist only as a source of payment.
