“Good hotel, room for improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We booked this hotel through groupon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We upgraded our room as other reviews had stated rooms very small. We stayed in the kings room which was lovely. Very large comfy bed, good sized bathroom with a wonderful spa bath! Afternoon cream tea, evening meal and breakfast all included in the offer. We thought the menu offered was very good and had plenty of choice. Hotel a bit dated but didn't spoil our stay.Very good value for money, would return.

“No chance to sleep before 1am!”

We could not sleep before 1 am due to the loud music from the wedding downstairs! We booked a room on Groupon 3 months in advance and got the worst room ever!
Cream tea is not the Afternoon tea, so have a lunch before.
Dinner was nice.
The hotel is on the main road, so for romantic walks we drove off to Marlow.
An overall, it is overpriced!

“Kings Hotel, Stokenchurch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We booked this hotel via Groupon and were really looking forward to our stay. Sadly we treated poorly by reception and when we found our room we were gobsmacked at how small and dark it was, our window had a roller blind drawn, when we lift it was covered by a sign reading Out of Order and wouldn't open. The bed was far too small for two adults and as they were fully booked we ate our food (which was good food) and drove the two hours back home, forgoing the relaxing getaway we hoped for! Never again.

Room Tip: Do not choose Room 230 my hallway is bigger

Stayed at this hotel for the second time. Greeted by Molly our receptionist who is helpful and charming. Yes the rooms are small and yes the lift is also small. The food again which was 3course was exellent. Breakfast Which was buffet style was lovely. Bar staff also exellent. the room. we had was tidy and clean. free wi fi.there was a wedding on the go downstairs that didn't effect us at all. Both my wife and I enjoyed our one night stay. We will go back again providing the price is good....

“A friendly, professional and well organised Hotel.”

We booked this hotel for an overnight romantic stay and from the very start of our visit this was a great experience. The Hotel staff were friendly, well organised and everything was exactly as they had described.

Easy to find, ample parking and a homely room all contributed to the overall experience.

Our package included afternoon cream tea, and an evening meal. Staff were expecting us, were flexible in the timings and the food and service were fantastic. We will definitely be back!
