“Very rude hotel owner”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

Stayed there with a group of people for 3 nights. The owner of the hotel was really not helpful and very rude. The rooms are quite big and proper but you hear everthing from your neighbours. If you happen to have somebody sleeping in the room above you, you will here every step. Isolation is terrible. Avoid to stay there. The food is nothing special and the atmosphere is rather boaring.

“Rude Rude Rude !!”

Working in the area had been a couple of times before and was nice. Think new owners have taken over,. My parents came to visit, so took them for a meal and ended up very embarassed !! Starter was actually very nice then it all went wrong. My Dad ordered gammon which ended up being a vacumm packed 99p type you get on asda value not the 12oz advertised. Me and my Mum both ordered the same, 12oz sirloin. When it came one was a sirloin the other was clearly over cooked rib eye which they had tried to cover with sauce! It was unedible !! We asked the waitress to check and she came back and just said the chef says it s right ! It clearly was not !! We asked again if it could be changed as you could not cut it. The waitress came back again and said no mistake has been made its right !! We asked to speak to the chef, by this time we had all given up on eating. He was extrememly rude said it was what we had ordered and that we were making a fuss. We asked for a replacement then decided after he left that none of us were hungry any longer so told the waitress we were leaving. She told the chef who then asked us what he wanted us to do with the food he had now started to re cook after half an hour of asking !! I went to complain to the manageress who was clearly the chefs wife so had no luck !! I am a customer service manager for a very reputable company so was very calm and just tried to air my grievance but she just answered " the last person who complained I barred !!!" I refused to pay for my Mums main (now wish had not paid for any of it) The 3 starters and 2 mains still came to nearly £70 so was really expensive seen as though none of us ate our main course and only had 2 drinks !! I would not recommend this place to anyone as long as that couple work there. The Mall in Woodhall is very nice with very helpful staff who now have all of our teams repeat business and all of our customers

Room Tip: never stay here unless you like to be spoken to like you are worthless

“Really homely place and friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

I stayed in the Leagate Inn hotel for 2 weeks whilst I was working in the area. The room was very spacious with a good sized en suit, a sofa and a large flatscreen tv with loads of channels. It was clean and fresh, with free internet access and a very reasonable price. The breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble for the chef. I found all the staff really friendly, even the funny looking guy in the bar. The bar itself was really cosy and homely, with an open fire. Although I only had evening meals twice during my stay, they were both really tasty, with large portions and great value for money. The garden looked really nice and I can imagine it makes a fantastic beer garden in the summer, I'd recommend the Leagate to any of my friends and willl come back some time for sure.

“Pretty decent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I've stayed before. It was a couple of years ago, and it was one of those visits that left little impression; neutral and slightly cold. A bit like a trip on a National Express coach, gets it done adequately but something you'd probably have given a miss. The room then was the disabled friendly one on the ground floor, the dinner was bearable and the service a bit surly and short.
The Woodhall Spa Hotel was full so i resigned myself to another trip to British hotel standards circa 1979 and checked in.
Much friendlier this time, and I was given the griffiths room on the first floor. Easily superior with a nice sofa and big flat screen with Freeview. There must have been a well needed investment in the rooms.
Looking at the food reviews done recently I once again braced myself. I can't speak for any of the other options but my sirloin steak was one of the best all year. And served with a nice blue cheese sauce, it's highly recommend. The bar staff although young were friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and drinks.
After a sound nights sleep breakfast was relaxed and well arranged, and check out smooth.
The furniture in the public rooms is still an odd crowded miss match, the decor is eclectic and don't expect a hotel service but all in all, yes I Would stay again without an 'oh no'. The other reviews just make me hesitant, was I staying on an exceptional night and just lucky? Who knows, just don't hold me responsible!

“Very poor food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Ate here in the restaurant starting a long weekend in Lincs. My wife had Lasagne and myself rack of lamb. Both dishes were unedible. Lamb was nearly burnt to a crisp and the lasagne was tepid. Service is very poor, very rushed as the waitress's cant wait to get home. Not cheap either paid £42 including wine(poor)
